[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — MC charges after 8 months without any consent

Hi, I happen to be an unfortunate preferred customer of HDFC Bank holding a corporate salary account. Because of type of account and relationship I maintain with bank, I am supposed to enjoy a lot of privileges where no charges/fee for such services like ordering a Demand Draft/Manager cheque issued from my bank. On 7th Sept 2013, I requested two Manager cheques and filled forms accordingly with no commission charges mentioned being a preferred customer. Relationship manager and Bank Manager issuing the MCs did not raise any issue at that point of time. To my surprise, after 8 months I see two unidentified charges levied in my account. After enquiring the bank, I was told they are levied against MC issued 8 months bank and as per the Bank Policy, they have the right to levy such charges even after 8 months even without my consent. After strongly objecting to the same, I was assured that these charges will be reversed within a week time but only one which was of very small denomination was reversed and they have stopped taking any calls or responding to mails regarding reversal of other which is significantly higher value. The case has been registered with Bank's Grievance cell as well with no response so far. I have been chasing this for 6 weeks almost on a daily basis but the bank officials seem to be keeping a blind eye on this with no concern whatsoever. The response has been pathetic and not only will I reconsider having my relationship with the bank going forward, I will never recommend anyone to have any kind of relationship with HDFC ever. Charges levied are completely baseless and the bank is refusing the reverse them and simply delaying my follow-ups to frustrate me so that I stop following them up and they can close the matter. Appreciate of this is followed up at different forums and penalize them for deficiency in service if possible.
