[Resolved] HDFC Bank Credit Card Division — Harassment from HDFC Credit Card Department post Card Block | |||
Credit Card number: [protected] Name: Vargab Bakshi This complaint is against the Credit card division of HDFC credit card. In the month of September I had lost my credit card and hence blocked it. The total outstanding amount in the Credit card at that time was ~ Rs 45, 000. I cleared the entire amount together and did not apply for a new card as I got a new job and left India for training in my new career opportunity. I was stunned to see HDFC credit card still sending me bills of ~ Rs 0.88 in months of November/December 2013. I had a telephonic conversation with them Ticket Number - [protected] where they had confirmed that they have cleared some late fee that was associated with it. However, the bill clearance emails kept coming every month. Please get this straight, my credit card was blocked and I never applied for a new credit card - so technically, I did not have a HDFC credit card with me. Upon all this nuisance, where I kept writing to them to not send me bills since I was not using their service, a mail drops in March 2014 saying they have applied the annual cost of ~ Rs1600 on the card. Again, I did not have any credit card of HDFC for 6 months starting September yet they sent me this amount. I again wrote to them and spoke to them that I am not paying a cent as I have not been using their card and did not hold any credit card of HDFC. In July 2014, they sent me bills of ~ Rs 3600 mentioning I have to clear this amount. I again denied paying this amount and their escalations department reverted back to me (Mr.Arun) that their bank is looking to resolve this matter and asked me to be "patient" regarding the same. They also provided me a phone number where I was asked to get in touch in certain time slots. Every time I called them in those time slots, nobody picked up!! I even emailed them my number and asked to get in touch yet they never called. (Reference number [protected]) Last week again their escalations department have written to me asking me to clear the payment without even bothering to have a conversation with me. It is very annoying that their Credit card sales department keeps calling and bugging people to sign up for credit cards and the post closure service is so so poor. I have been harrassed time and again since the last 10 months and looking for justice. HDFC bank, I had immense respect for your back with my recurring deposits, salary account, credit card everything at your service. Not only have I cancelled all those services but I will do my word of mouth to make sure nobody else suffers like me. As for me paying, I am taking this to the highest level of judiciary to find any possible reason why I should be making this payment amongst the harassment that I am going through from your bank.
