Honda 2 Wheelers India — I was ask to pay for parts replacement and labor fee during valid standard warranty period | |||
My Honda CBR150 stopped & doesnt start again. I took it to the regular service centre Diamond Motors on Elliot Road, Kolkata. Since it was closing time they asked me to leave the bike & they'll call me by morning to inform the problem. However, around 3:30pm next day they called & said the bike is ready for collection. When i went to take delivery they asked me to pay Rs381, that is Rs181 for the Relay Starter which they replaced & Rs200 labor. I refused to pay as the bike is still under Honda Standard Warranty. They refused to release the bike until i paid & they said that due to water seeped into this section the warranty becomes null & void. So i hv to pay to take delivery. I just couldnt help myself to stand there any further as i didnt feel happy with the situation. I paid & collected the bike. Now please educate me if this action from the service centre is justified & was i supposed to pay. On a second note from day one the bike chain comes off often & i dont remember how many times they have adjusted the same. Now they say i shud get the chain replaced & i hv to pay for the chain cost plus labor. Can you please throw some light on this too.
