[Resolved] Honda Dio — Honda DIO starting trouble throughout (not just cold start)
I purchased a new Honda Dio (HET engine) on Sep 04 2013. On the delivery time, i was informed by the delivery division of the cold start trouble and requires a kick start in the morning. Now I had purchased this bike for my wife and by no means wanted her to keep kicking it daily in the morning. Her previous bike tvs scooty pep+ never had such troubles. I thought OK, this is a honda bike and the other benefits are better, and secondly i can't do much out of it on the delivery. But since the first week, the DIO has a starting trouble, not just in the morning but through out the day. Worst is even in the running state at a traffic signal when the bike budges to button start. Very embarrasing when people are honking horns and you try desperately to get your brand new bike started. On top of that, the kick is so ill-placed that it cannot be hit clean without getting the bike on a main stand. Even at the first servicing after notifying about the complaint, there was a bland response. Yeah this has a starting trouble but only in the morning and nothing has changed ever since. Please suggest what can be done. I'm not going to recommend this bike to anyone else any more. Was this information helpful?

My suggestion would be to send your wife with the sooty and not you, looking at your wife probably those creepy mechanics would do the repair out of 'generosity' for free.
i have also the same problem with same year of purchase.what is the remedy. It is the product defective with same year.
My vehicle also got the same problem. Is anyone got solution for this?

On the Dio, Imagine kick starting using the worst designed kickstarter ever invented...you have to lift it onto centre stand, stand behind vehicle and kick forward trying not to topple the scooter, since you don't have a good grip on it. Then you kick and you kick until you just want to burn the bloody scooter and shoot Mr Honda. The thing just does not start with just a kick. You have to injure several muscles in your leg before you get some sign of life out of it. When it finally starts, you have to make a frantic leap for the accelarator from your position behind the bike...and invariably the engine would have switched off by then, So you have to beg someone else to stand by the handle to twist the accelarator while you return to kickstarting the bike. My suggestion is never risk buying a Honda scooter, based on this crappy product.
