HTC — Display problem

I bought an HTC Desire 816 2 months back...It was working fine...Since it had no gorilla glass, i had put a cover for protection. Yesterday, when i took my phone to check messages, it looked weird. The display was having horizontal lines, was flickering and the top left part was black with multicolor lines. It is just a 2 month old device and how did this happen. Till date, my phone never fell down or suffered any kind of water damage. Then how did this happen.?? Since this was the first mid range smartphone from HTC, i seriously doubt about the quality of components used. Did htc just used low quality components to make the device so as to reduce the cost, that it started to malfunction within just 2 months..?? I expect a reply and support for this issue from HTC..
