[Resolved]  ICICI Bank — harassing and threatening by debt collectors

Hi, I was sanctioned a personal loan on my credit card without my knowledge by crediting the amount of Rs.2, 17, 500/- in the month of January, 2008 by ICICI BANK. I paid the emi for 8-9 months and stopped paying due to job loss and financial constraints. Later I closed the credit card in 2009 but personal loan on credit card is remained not closed despite being emi not paid. Suddenly after 6 1/2 years, on 20th of August, 2014 some people landed up at my door and were saying they are from icici bank and ask to settle the payment then and there only. I said its not possible for me to repay immediatly as my financial condition is not allowing me to do so. They threatened me with dire consequences if I fail to settle the issue before month end. I asked them to give time till November. After harassing for 3-4 days they stopped calling me. Again on 3rd of Sept, 2014 they started calling and harassing me and even came my home twice. Today again 4 guys landed up at my residence and made huge ruckus in front of my neighbours and even tried to stop me and my wife leaving for our offices. We both were unemployees all the years and luckily got jobs and joined our respective jobs on 1st of sept, 2014. Now they are threatening us that they will come to our offices and embarrass us in front of our employers. Already we felt ashamed in front of neighbours and now we fear about our jobs. Cant afford loosing jobs as my both kids are into college and need to pay their fee and take care of their future. I want to take action against the bank and recovery agents causing me such agony and trauma. Pl suggest me a best action to take so that nobdy again will fall prey to these kind of harassment and resulting in taking their lives. The persons who approached me in this course are Yuvaraj, Mahesh, Giridhar(introduced himself from Bommanahalli Branch, Bangalore) and a collection executive (old guy). They are not even providing me the loan details as I don't have them since its been so long I was sanctioned the loan.Thanks & Regards, Naushad. M
