Icici Lombard — Policy # 3001/[protected]/00/B00 *ICICI Lombard Fraudulent Activities** | |||
It is very unfortunate and disappointing that companies like ICICI Lombard Motor Insurance is involved in such a fraudulent act. Below is the synopsis of the incident in detail. This is with regards to my motor policy # 3001/[protected]/00/B00 and claim #MOT0 4553559. My vehicle Ford Endeavor met with an accident on 25th April 2015 on our way to Mcleodganj. I believe due to hitting something on the road at night, the front left tyre burst and then the front right tyre also burst. Since the vehicle was in motion when this happened, both the alloys got damaged and the impact came on the suspension and chassis, which is badly damaged. At 1:50 am when I called ICICI for road assistance, they informed that the policy does not provide for road assistance. When I offered to pay for the service, I was informed by the Customer Care agent that the service is not available in the area where the vehicle was and I was advised to contact a local mechanic and get the car in moving condition and drive down. Since there was no damage to the engine, so we got the tyres replaced and the alignment was out, so we somehow managed to drive down to Gurgaon and the vehicle was given to Harpreet Ford service station on 27th April 2015. At the service station, the surveyor Mr. Mukesh Kumar and Area Manager Mr. Rajeev Dhawan did the inspection and denied the claim saying that the damage was due to tyre burst and there is no major physical visible damage; hence we cannot give the claim. However it is clearly mentioned in the attached letter given by Ford that there is an impact on the Chassis due to this accident and it needs to be replaced. The items damaged due to the accident are: • Both front Alloys • Both front Tyres • Front Bumper • Left Fender • Left Rear Bumper • Front Axel • Front Suspension • Chassis Cost estimated by the service center (Harpreet Ford Gurgaon) is approximately over 3.5 Lakhs. I fail to understand the reasoning given by ICICI for not providing the claim. Why would any sane person on earth will cause damage to the chassis intentionally and pay 40 % after the depreciation from his pocket when the vehicle is in good condition. This is such an illogical acquisition by the Area Manager. I have escalated the issue to the customer service department a number of times but have not received any response. If this is the case then I would rather go with some other insurance companies like Bharti AXA, Tata AIG or HDFC which at least respond to customer queries and respect the customers.
