About 50 days ago I bought a Idea net setter 3G (provided by alcatel).It costed me 2900 and the dealer told that every month you will get 4 GB data plan without paying any more money for 3 months. Recently from it's second bill cycle (2 Dec 2013) I have been experiencing surfing issues. Problem(1) The Plan didn't started itself and I was surfing on a speed of 80 Kbps. I had to call the dealer 20 times and finally he named it some "technical issue" and problem was resolved after I received the following two consecutive messages: 1."Dear Customer, Your request for Service Profile Change Order for GPRS 3G Pack via C1-[protected] has been processed successfully w.e.f 06/12/2013 4:08:45 PM. We value our association and look forward to servicing you." 2."Dear Customer, Your request for GPRS 3G Pack via C1-[protected] has been processed successfully w.e.f 06/12/2013 4:58:12 PM.Kindly note that the New Tariff charges will be applicable after 2 hours from now.Thank you for giving us an opportunity to service you." "I would like to know what they mean?" Problem(2): On 8 Dec I received a message: Sender: ID-Idea Date: 12/08/2013 13:24:22 [protected][protected] Your full speed quota is over & speed is now reduced to 80kbps .If you are a 3G Customer, you can buy speed booster pack of Rs100/300MB.SMS ACTSPDBST 100 to 1234" On 9 also I received the same: "Sender: ID-Idea Date: 12/09/2013 16:42:25 [protected][protected] Your full speed quota is over & speed is now reduced to 80kbps .If you are a 3G Customer, you can buy speed booster pack of Rs100/300MB.SMS ACTSPDBST 100 to 1234" On the same day I checked for my data usage by sending <DATA> to 52200, following message received : "Sender: Idea Date: 12/09/2013 18:38:57 [protected][protected] Dear Subscriber, the data usage for your idea mobile[protected] for this bill cycle as on[protected] is 3254.34 MB. Dial 1212(toll free) for more info." the data used (3254.34 MB = 3.178 GB) was much less than my expected 3G usage of 4GB I haven't even used the full data but the speed was reduced to 80 Kbps . I have to again call my dealer Many times, he again told some technical issues of "Idea not working properly in my district. " Later I used the same sim on a Micromax Modem and it didn't worked.. (My compalaint was also noted and I was told that a delegate of Idea would call me to resolve the issue and I will receive my complaint ID. I had not received any complaint ID and no one has even called me)Late night I was again able to surf at 3G speed after a number of calls. Problem (3) After a Series of above problems today Morning when I tried to connect again the same message: "Sender: ID-Idea Date: 12/10/2013 11:58:37 [protected][protected] Your full speed quota is over & speed is now reduced to 80kbps .If you are a 3G Customer, you can buy speed booster pack of Rs100/300MB.SMS ACTSPDBST 100 to 1234" I checked for data usage which was still less than 4 GB: "Sender: Idea Date: 12/10/2013 11:59:29 [protected][protected] Dear Subscriber, the data usage for your idea mobile[protected] for this bill cycle as on[protected] is 3690.99 MB. Dial 1212(toll free) for more info." the data used is around 3.6 GB < 4 GB the speed is still reduced to 80 Kbps the problem is not solved and I don't won't to again take the headache of calling my dealer again 50 times and contacting customer care.
