India Post — Change in Postal Pin Code by Department of Posts, a big harassment to Public at large, difficult to get it implemented in all I.D. proofs

Address:Chandigarh, Chandigarh, 160043
Website:www.indiapost.gov.in/vas/Pages/IndiaPostHome.aspx

We are residing in Sector 43- B, Chandigarh, U.T., for the last 30 years. at the same house/ same postal address. In the beginning when Pin code system started, all residents of the area were allotted Pin code of 160036. After some years it was changed to 160022 and all the residents have to go through a long and difficult procedure to get this new pin code altered at their ID proofs like, Pass Port, Voter Card, Pan Card, Adhara Card etc.. Now recently our Pin Code is changed by Postal Department of Govt. of India, as 160043 and our area is attached to a different Post Office. Now we have to again go through a long difficult process of getting this new Pin Code changed in all our ID proofs. There should be some online procedure by Postal Department to intimate all other Govt. Departments, like Pass Port office, Adhaar card scheme, Pan Card etc to get it done automatically. What is the fault of Public in this method used by Postal Department of changing the Pin Code. You are also requested to intimate this issue to PMO office in public interest.

(1). To add more harassment on the issue of change in Postal Pin Code as stated in original complaint, post office of 160022 is returning posts to senders for wrong pin code, even when a large number of Public members residing in this area whose Pin Code is changed from 160022 to 160043, have no idea when their Pin code was changed. The postal Department should at-least send to each house a certificate showing change in Pin code, on the basis of which we can approach different departments to get the correction done in Residential address in different ID proofs including Pass Port, Pan Card, Adhaar Card, Bank Accounts, etc.
(2). We have also sent a copy of this complaint to the office of PM/Republic India .
