[Resolved]  India Post — Delay in delivery of cheque for payment of rs. 105525 / - on monthly income scheme (Mis) a / c 175173 in name of minati kar from jorasanko post office

My grandmother, Minati Kar widow of 75 years age had opened an MIS account (No.175173) jointly with my mother her younger daughter, Sumita Sinha in Jorasanko Post office(Girish Park Kolkata). Incidentally that time she was staying at Kolkata and her daughter(my mother) was staying at Chennai. But at present due to her age she is bound to stay with my mother at Chennai. Her application for the payment of delivery of cheque of above mentioned amount was submitted through a representative in Jorasanko Post office on 05.09.2015. It was confirmed by Post Office that the cheque would have ready on 14.09.2015. She reached Kolkata on 17.09.2015 at early morning and immediately rushed to the PO to have the cheque. But we were denied due to Computer problem. On enquiry it was informed that the computer remained out of order since 14.09.2015. We went again to the PO on 21.09.2015 to receive the cheque. But again it was refused. Our return ticket to Chennai was already booked for 22.09.2015. Hence we departed to Chennai. In this action procedure we went to the office of Mr.Aloke Kr Sanyal Supdt. of Post offices, North Kolkata who was busy on meetings and refused to meet us. Hence we discussed the matter with Smt. Sumita Mondal/Priti Banerjee Asstt. Supdt. But she expressed her inability to offer any help in this regard.
The above incident is an example of irresponsible attitude of Post & Telegraph officials of that particular sector to those customers who do have immense faith on the services provided by reputed organisation named INDIA POST. This attitude will create a negative impression and also deteriorating reputation on the part of your public sector unit.
