The pantry delivery boys were charging Rs.10/- for a standard cup of tea instead of the prescribed Rs.5/- and Rs.50/- for breakfast instead of Rs.30/-
All the attendants were hand in gloves in this act and acted rather sheepishly on questioning. I brought this to the attention of the TT as well who refused to take any stand and did not provide the complaint book but just said its a pantry issue. He just accompanied me to the pantry manager / incharge.
The pantry manager even after repeated insisting refused to hand over the complaint but also accepted that his boys were overcharging and that it was to sustain in business. On reprimanding he pleaded not to lodge the complaint on the condition that he would instruct all his employees to charge correctly.
The TT suggested that he will ensure I am treated fairly and after a while the pantry boy came up to my seat offering complimentary tea and breakfast in lieu of me keeping quite. I politely refused the offer and demanded the rates be revised for all the passenger which I was assured is being done.
However even after an hour of this discussion the tea was being sold at Rs.10/- and breakfast at Rs. 50.
Please note I had encountered the same grievance on my travel in the same train (12955) on 10/01/2015. However during that altercation the TT had been positive and the pantry had started charging correctly on an immediate basis.
I am sorry to say but your own people (TT as well as attendants) are conniving with these pantry vendors and cheating the poor passengers.
