[Resolved]  Irctc — Train canceled but refund not issued

Hi, I had booked tickets for 09724 premium train to nagpur from chennai. But the train got canceled and i was informed only 2 hours before the departure. I tried to file TDR/cancel the ticket but was unable to do so. So i thought, since railways has canceled the train, they will directly issue the refund. But its been close to 2 weeks since i received the refund. Now when i called irctc and checked, they tell me i should have canceled the ticket within 72 hours. Thats the rule and now we cannot issue the refund. how would a customer know all the rules. while canceling the train, they should have stated in a message about the rule. now they are not refunding even a single paisa.
