Add to this the casual approach of one of the leading airline towards the overall incident. If you would have made an effort of reading all the earlier three mail sent to Jet airways. You would have easily noted that the money was obviously stolen at Mumbai airport during baggage scanning and loading. And not at Hyderabad airport as mentioned in your reply detailing investigation at Hyderabad airport, where only baggage unloading procedure would have been followed. I once again strongly request you to a make ‘ A PROPER INVESTIGATION’ of this unfortunate incident, right from hand over of our baggage to Jet airways counter of Mumbai airport on 23rd Dec 2014. I have also provided CC TV footage details that i have seen at Mumbai airport in my earlier mail to Jet Airways. Please investigate further from baggage scanning for details and the person handling the baggage during loading ( As possibility of breaking the lock of our black bag at this time seems Very High) A possible gang of thieves are operating here. I would certainly like to go through the investigation reports in presence of Mumbai police, where in I had lodged the complaint. I will be travelling from Mumbai – Indore jet airways on 9th jan-15 coming back same day. If possible would like to meet Jet airways responsible person to understand the procedure of investigations of your airline. I trust if Jet airways is truly concerned of this incident they can surely get evidences and solve this issue. Hope you have a capable security Division. We regret to note your observation with regard to your checked in bag post your travel from Mumbai to Hyderabad on S2 4601. We have completed a detailed enquiry with the Security and Airport Management teams at Hyderabad Airport, regrettably, the enquiries with the individual staff involved could not establish any irregularity in our operations, with the baggage handling or reported loss of Rs.22, 000. You will appreciate, in the absence of any evidence, it will be difficult to apportion blame on any individual or assume the liability for this loss. As you would be aware that according to security regulations as also mentioned in the terms & conditions on all guests tickets, Valuable Articles i.e. Currency, precious metals, jewelry, negotiable instruments, securities, personal identification documents and other items of value, are best carried by the guests as cabin baggage, as the airline has no liability in the event of any reported irregularity. In any event, please do not feel that we are insensitive to such an unfortunate happening as mentioned by you and your concern over the same. We certainly share your disappointment. Though at this point of time, I trust you will appreciate that we are unable to resolve the issue brought to our attention for a positive outcome in the absence of any evidence, please be assured that we have taken serious cognizance of your comments and have shared your experience with our Security Division for further strengthening the vigilance of the baggage handling process at the concerned stations. While we deeply regret the inconvenience caused to you as a result of the missing Rs. 22, 000, we trust you will appreciate our position, in the given situation. May we request you to view this incident in isolation and not representative of our services we endeavor to offer our valued passengers. Notwithstanding the above, we look forward to your support and continued patronage of Jet Airways. Sincerely Kanchan Baggage Service Unit Jet Airways (l) Limited. Yesterday evening ( Sunday 28th Dec 2014) at around 19:30 hrs. I along with state police person had been to CISF dept at Mumbai airport to view the CC TV footage. We could view the footage of both the baggage being loaded ( Details displayed on screen : Counter no 52 1065 Time displayed : 07:44 ) when we were at boarding pass counter. I was in black T-shirt with spectacles along with my wife in green chudidar and my son. Our two bags one brown and another black was on belt at 07:47:20. Please note both the bags were locked when we handed over for loading and the lock of black bag was missing when we received the bag at Hyderabad and mentioned cash was stolen. ON CC TV footage we were not able to identify bags once they went inside for scanning and loading area as the CISF person could not pin point the exact belt on which both the bags carried further for scanning & loading and requested to get Jet airways person who could help. The on duty police inspector tried to connect to Jet airways manager number of times but no was responding to the landline number. I have tried my best to provide the necessary information to you and expect a faster response from Jet airways to get our money back. Yours sincerely. Dear Sir, Sub : Reporting Of Theft During Travel From Mumbai to Hyderabad By Jetairways – S2 4601. I along with my wife and my son have travelled from Mumbai to Hyderabad on Jet airways flight S2 4601, on 23rd Dec 2014. Flight time Mumbai 09:45 arrival at Hyderabad 11:05 am . Our Seat no. 14D, 14E &14F. We had done web checked in and carried two hand bags while checked in two big soft bags before 8:00 am in cargo at Mumbai airport, Both these bags were locked, (Brown bag tag details : 4705 S2690517) and another bag black Samsonite (Tag details 4705 S2690518). At Hyderabad we received 1st brown bag on belt no.2 and second bag was received after around 15 -20 minutes. On receiving this bag we found the lock on the bag was missing, we immediately informed Jet counter CSA dept and on checking we found Rs. 20, 000/- ( placed in Red ladies clutch, 20 x 500 ) was missing and another plastic envelop with Rs 2000/- ( 20 x 100). i.e. a total of Rs 22, 000/- were being systematically removed from our black bag. All other items were intact and found in as placed manner. Jet airway’s personnel’s informed at the Hyderabad airport are Mr. Shrinivas, Mr. Shahid of CSA dept and on duty security person Mr. S.S.Rao. Mr. Rao did spoke to Mumbai airport security person on his mobile requesting for CC TV footage for investigation. And assured us that an email would be sent to respective dept for further investigation. We have also lodged a complaint with Shamshabad, Cyberabad police station. ( copy attached). We have come to Hyderabad as tourist and would be staying here till 28th Dec-14. We demand an immediate investigation on this theft and keep us informed on updates. As suggested by Cyberabad police station will lodge an FIR with Mumbai police once we are back at Mumbai, as possibility of theft at Mumbai airport seems obvious. We request for a stringent action on the culprit who seems to be an insider, as he knew the exact bag to be opened, which I suppose would not be difficult to figure out in today’s hi-tech world. A humble request for a help to get our hard earned back at the earliest. Sincerely your’s Jet airways frequent flyer[protected] Sanjit Potdar [protected]
