Jet Airways — Ground staff abused and tried to raise hand on a female passenger | |||
This is to bring to your kind notice the unacceptable and unruly behavior on 16th April 2014 of the ground staff at the Chennai airport. As per the rules the flight checkin time for a domestic flight is a minimum of 45mins and a maximum of 90 mins. I was booked to fly on 9W492 to from MAA to PNQ. I was there in Chennai for an official trip and due to the language barrier and since I was not familiar with the roads I reached the airport counter at 8:15am and flight was to depart at 8:50am which means there was 35mins left for the flight to depart. The checkin counter staff denied me boarding since I was 10 mins late. I requested them time and again to let me board or find an alternative for me since my grandmother was to be operated and she was a cancer patient and the doctors had clearly said that there was a possibility that she would not survive. Forget about showing sympathy the staff supervisor made statements like he doesn't care if someone is dead or alive he could not help me at any cost. And after I raised my volume and told him that he is inhuman he got up from the counter and was almost about to raise his hand on me. He abused and told me to get lost. This is in no way acceptable. I have seen Singapore airlines accommodating passengers on international flights just because the actually believe in customer service and customer satisfaction and your staff could not do something for me on a domestic flight and above that the staff had the cheek to lie and tell me that the flight had taken off at 8:35am whereas the actual take off time was 8:50am. I regret booking with Jet airways cause I didn't reach in time and my grandmother expired. This is such apathetic behavior. I am definitely going to report this to the consumer forum and will have this in the newspapers as well. I am writing this email to let you know that you have hired and trained staff that does not understand the meaning of customer service. I will make sure I spread the word to as many people as I can so that they don't face the same thing that I faced. Shame on jet airways. This same email has been sent to the heads of jet airways. but they didnt acknowledge my mail.
