Joseph Nursing Home — Life risking hospital

Address:Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Joseph Nursing home – Surely a good brand name, and ensures for normal delivery, put my little one’s life into risk and made my delivery a nightmare experience. You need to have patience when you go for your regular checkup and testing, I did overcome all of that. I did not have any problem during my pregnancy, and Dr. Rekha Kurian promised that everything will be normal.
Even though she did not keep up her promise she risked the life of my daughter and made life complicated for the little one. April 22nd was my due, and I did not get pains till that day, so doctor asked me to wait for a couple of days. And on 24th morning bleeding started, and post which I got admitted in hospital. And only on 24thnight they injected pain for me, and even after injecting 3 times, I did not get pains and my uterus did not fully open. Only the duty doctors were present in action, and I was the only female that night for delivery.
Until 11:30PM in the night they tried for normal and after which the duty doctor waited for Rekha to confirm about undergoing operation, when she was not available, she had sent her son. After all their confusion and formalities they set up for operation, and finally operated in that late night. Due to all this delay when my daughter had born she had respiratory problem, since the long time she was stuck in mid-way she had consumed Meconium. This happens at a least percentage for few of them, but because of the delay in operation she had consumed all the stools passed by her during the delivery period. All these stuck in the lungs and did not make way for air.
She was moved to 1st level of support to Mehta hospital, and then they left hope and asked us to try in Apollo or Ramachandra. We chose to move her to Ramachandra, where she was kept in NICU with minimum oxygen support for 54 days. It was a horrible experience that the baby was kept alone in NICU and parents cannot stay along with them, but need to stay around in a waiting hall. After so much of struggle and putting the baby’s life to risk for 54 days, we were able to save her. And the worst part it, they did not show her even for a single sight to me, and I had to wait 1 week to be moved to Ramachandra and then to see her with all the pipes and tubes was heart breaking.
But with all these, the sad part is, still my daughter has not fully recovered, she has respiratory problems and does not gain the normal weight. All this happened just for the ignorance and delay made in Joseph nursing home. And after checking with Rekha, she said they can’t help anything and asked us to leave. Such careless action and they were not ready to take the responsibility for risking my child’s life. Due to their carelessness my daughter will be suffering her entire life. And I miss the normal motherhood, as she is still in bottle feeding and cannot take normal breast feeding to her respiratory illness. Please refrain from such life killing hospital, because of which we are not able to lead a normal life.
