HP Pavillion G6 — RAM Upgrade Issue - HP Support is simply keeping me waiting for 5 months

I bought a 'HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC1313AX Notebook' nearly 10 months back. It came with 4GB RAM and supports upto 8GB. 5 months back I had a need to increase the RAM and added a new RAM to increase the capacity to 8 GB. But the system doesn't use the 8GB. When I raised a complaint in HP, they gave some basic steps to perform which i have done already. Its been 5 months and still they are saying it is not the problem with the product. My warranty period is ending in 20 days.
