[Resolved]  Lenovo — poor service

This is to draw your attention towards my experience with your product Lenovo Y series 510. I regret to mention it has been most dissatisfying.
I purchased the device in Apr 09. On the very next day, a defect in the keypad was identified, however this was addressed by the retailer and the replacement was done.
Within 4 months o[censored]sage, the left hinge of the laptop broke and the device became unusable. I approached the authorized service centre for the problem. I was promised a solution in 7 working days. However after repeated follow up with the team, my laptop was repaired in 30 days!!!! This is highly unprofessional.
Lately the screen of the laptop is not working; it has made the device a complete useless box and upon this the retailer and the service centre team was least reluctant to resolve the issue and has misbehaved in a big way.
Somehow, I get back my device after a month period from service centre and to my surprise it was running fine. Unfortunate enough, my trust over the brand started to build up but here comes another bouncer….DEFECT …BOTH THE HINGES BOUNCES OUT FROM THE DEVICE!!!!!!!

Somehow I manage to cool down and thought of writing a thesis on this. After my deep research on the product and expert opinion captured from various retailers I came to know that it’s a manufacturing defect…A MANUFACTURING DEFECT in a LENOVO Product….since the weight of the screen is too heavy to be mounted on the loosely coupled base!!!!!!
What???? Retailer has washed away his hand by selling me a Defected Product….
Now, the present situation is that I have a Lenovo Machine just 18 months old having both the Hinges out of order….n Out of Warranty…Should I get back to service centre who will charge heavy bills and blame me for this hardware failure…
Don’t you think it’s a cheat on the part of Lenovo to sell off such a product which inspite of delicate use cannot last for 2 years… forget about the warranty….
Please suggest what I should do now!!!!!!!!
Also clarify me over your repair policy, since service centre team commit 7 days to resolved the bug but inspite of constant reminder they generally takes month time to repair the device, What do you think of the customer….!!!! Don’t we have enough work other than to run after the service centre team? This is not acceptable at any level…..it has been the awful and most dreadful experience I have ever faced with any electronics company.
Big time SORRY!! But to me Lenovo simply does not have any moral values and quality standards, most unethical in their wordings, unreliable product quality and unskilled workforce in service centres.
I purchased the device with anticipation that it will run successfully for 5 years without giving me much trouble…courtesy to LENOVO but it has failed to live up to my expectations!!!!!!

i had bought a lenovo pc worth 40, 000 4-months back.the system soon encountered a problem regarding which i had login a complaint which was not responded in any of the manners.since then i have been trying to login my complaint but as usual there has been no response from company's side.though they say that dont provide service for software problems but all in all be it software or be it hardware problem but company has got nothing to do with their product once it is sold.lenovo ibm, ibm lenovo alot has been heard about these but now i have come to know where exactly they stand in terms of customer satisfaction and how reliable this company is, to be invested in.
almost one and a half years after i have taken extended 2 years warranty, they tell me that they dont have proper documents, then when i scanned the documents and sent them they say that the two departments do not have updated info about it and they are delaying the process because they cannot just update a stupid database. Additionally, their parts are pretty bad, for e.g. i had to get the dvd drive replaced 5 times in 2 years. its the saddest laptop service I have ever seen.
DONT GET LENOVO!

Dear Lenovo,

I have purchased a Lenovo ideapad SLO-2 S/N no. CBQ0163816. I am facing over heating issue for which i registered complaint with
you for which the complaint given to me was [protected] which was on 5th May 2010 but i got call from RT Outsourcing services Ltd on 13th May 2010 stating closure for the case without attending as it was crossing the SLA. I asked them how they can close the case without attending it, they then said to come down to service station with the laptop by the so called Floor Manager Mr. Damodar even though it is under onsite warranty. After lot of argument he agreed to send engineer to collect the laptop & asked me to carry with me.

On the next day 14th May 2010 the engineer Mr.Subhash came to my office and wants to repair the laptop in my office instead of taking with him, which was not possible to give him place in my office again after argument on this as Mr.Damodar on phone as he was asking me to pay the octroi charges for taking the laptop to the service station. After lot of argument it was decided that the engineer Mr.Subhash will come to my residence next day to check the issue.

Engineer Subhash came next day 15th May 2010 to my place & took 2 hours in which he opened the complete laptop & re-fixed it again saying it is not getting over heated & if again problem came then to call again. After that when I tried connecting to internet but i was not able to do it & was not able to see any network connections. I called by ISP provider assuming problem with connectivity but the engineer told that lan drivers are missing & need to check with lenovo for this. I called RT outsorcing office on 17th May 2010 for the drivers issue, Mr.Jaganath told me to download them from Lenovo site, I do downloaded the drivers & run them in my laptop after which i was getting a error which is given in this mail as attachment. I again called the RT Outsourcing office stating the issue they asked me to registered a new case as the old case is closed & cannot be re-opened.

I called up lenovo call centre on 20th May 2010 and stated the whole episode to them & the kind of response getting from the service centre, the customer care executive help me with the email id to register my grievance with lenovo & gave me a new case id no. [protected]. I then immediately called RT outsourcing & give them the case id & asked them to come on the same day as if have taken off to solve this issue but they told they will only come once the case reflects in their system as it takes 4-5 hrs.

As expected nobody turned up on that day. The engineer came on 22nd May 2010 evening 6.30 p.m and after 2 hours he told me that there is a problem with Operating system which i need to take care as they do not handled OS issues, this really made me angry as the OS was with the laptop when i bought it. After that he connected me to Mr.Damodar again who again spoke to me rubishly & was keen on closing the case. I warned him not to close the case or else consequences won't be good. After lot of argument it was decided that they will check the issue as the laptop is under warranty but told me to backup the data only then they will check, when i requested them to take the backup as it was not possible at that time to do, they bluntly refused to help & told me they will call on Monday 24th May 2010. The engineer prepared the service report stating the issue as problem with Bluetooth, when i asked him about this, he told this is what given to him by his office, i refuse to sign on the service report, after confirming with the office the engineer accepted that it was their internal mistake & he wrongly diagnosed the issue & prepared a new service report.

I bought a new hard disk today to take a backup of the system & when i connected to the laptop it is not detecting, I called up the engineer to come tommorrow & check the issue, he said speak to Mr. Damodar. I called up Mr.Damodar he refuse to speak to me & asked me to call tomorrow in business hours, i begged to him to listen to the issue but he said to call in business hours.

I am really very very dejected with the kind of response i got till date. I feel i have done a greatest mistake by buying a lenovo product for getting such a service. I want to launch a complaint against the service centre but where i will be heard. Can I get justice???
Dear Sir,
Around 4 months after the purchase of my laptop i faced battery charging problem and I booked a complain in this regard.
In my system new battery replaced,new mother board replaced but the problem not resolved.Now when I am trying to contact to servicing center-Vizag they are not responding to me and not telling any solutions about my problem.

I am forwarding a scanned copy of my invoice for your reference.

Please sir do some need full action against them.

I am doctor by profession and using lenovo z580, i had problem in laptop, fan was not working
for which i went to lenovo service center at Hazratganj (tej narayan plaza)
at that time they notice that right side hinge was bit loose, and they mentioned in complain.
today I went to recieve my lap top I found fan was working instead of repair of loose hinge, hinge and lock arround hinge was broken,
for which i ask them, they denied to repair and they keep on blaming me and taken complain slip .and told me to leave their place and do what ever i can
I am feeling very embarrassed.
plz look into the matter
