Louis Philippe — Fraud

I purchased a belt from the store, unfortunately I found a leather defect in it, I came to the store and complained about it then the executive at borivali store was kind enough to take down my complaint forward & he send the belt for lab test. Then I was told that because of the defect Louis Philippe is giving me a gift card worth the same amount. Today I'd gone to the purchased one shoe while making payment I offered the gift card to be redeemed against the amount but to my surprise the executive told me that I cannot redeem the same in sale. I don't understand why is this so?? My capital is blocked since months, instead of refunding me my money back against defective product u guys gave me a gift card n now u don't even let me redeem if against products on sale?? Where m I at fault??
