Manipal Hospital — Pathetic service on a sunday and hopeless doctor and staff

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

I was running high fever since 2 days(103) and then decided to visit a doctor on Sunday(1-Mar-2015). I reached Manipal hospital(old Airport Road, Bangalore) and asked the person at the enquiry where i should go for fever and cold, and she directed me to the health check department. When i reached there, a lady told me to go to Registration counter and pay the bill. Dr Manjunath is available. When i went to Registration counter, they asked me if its my first time or not, and if not, then go to cash counter and make the payment. When i went there, i was asked to first raise an invoice in another counter, then only i will be able to make payment. I was just being thrashed like a football here and there when i was running a high fever. This is not the service i am expecting from Manipal. Once i made the payment, i was asked to wait for sometime since there was only one doctor and numerous patients. I made the payment at 10.45 AM and my turn came at 12.15 PM. I was made to wait for 1 and a half hours for a doctor. Is this the way you treat your patients? Can't you have more doctors on Sunday's? And i highly doubt the credibility of Dr. Manjunath, general physician. He is just an MBBS in a reputed hospital. They can't say that, just because its a Sunday, they will have only one doctor and that too only MBBS. If you don't have doctors, then please let the patients know the same, we will go to some other hospital. But I cannot get treated from just an MBBS doctor, i can find numerous MBBS doctors and that too i paid an amount of Rs500 for him when his diagnosis was utter rubbish. He asked us to do numerous tests(malaria, liver, typhoid, h1n1 etc) even though it was a simple fever. And because of the antibiotic which he prescribed before food, i had vomiting the entire night. Then the next day onwards, i stopped his tablets and i am feeling better now. I regret going to Manipal now and will never ever visit this godforsaken place and would never recommend any of my friends. Just for a small fever, i had to shelve out Rs3700 for no reasons and for a stupid doctor. Even for the reports, we have to follow it up with then n number of times, to send the soft copy to our email id. When i called, i got a response that please call after 2 PM and then when i called again, they asked me to call after 7.30. Why cant they just mail us the soft copies as and when its ready. I have been to Cloudnine as well, there the service is really good. You don't have to call them again and again for reports. This is the worst experience i have had with Manipal Old Airport Road, Bangalore.
