Maruti Suzuki India — Missing Navigation Chip

Address:Mumbai City, Maharashtra, 400056
Website:www.skwheels.com

We had given our Maruti Ciaz ZXI+ (AT) for its first service on 8th of November 2016 to S.K. Wheels (Oshiwara) whose workshop is in Goregaon.
They provided us with a pick-up and drop service.

Our navigation chip had been installed a couple of weeks prior to this.
When the car was picked up, we had taken out all personal belongings like sunglasses, perfume, pen etc from the car. However, we let the car papers and all Maruti fitted accessories be in the car itself.
When the car came back from service, everything seemed intact. However, we did not even imagine that something like a Navigation Chip would be missing from our car.
The other day, our friend told us about the experience of finding his Navigation Chip missing from his car after th first service. We immediately became alert and checked our car. To our disbelief, our chip was missing too!
We were shocked! We immediately called the Service Center. And instead of listening to us calmly, they started blaming us for not checking the car when it was dropped back.
Honestly, the thought of checking for a navigation chip wouldnt even occur to someone. Its as good as SK Wheels expecting us to check if the gearbox is still there! Its obvious that it is supposed to be there, as you didnt remove it and it doesnt even need to be touched unless there is some problem with it (which wouldnt be the case during the first service anyway)

We have put in a telephonic complaint with the company. But it has been of no use as they are refusing to even listen to a possibility of it being stolen.
They are not even connecting us to a higher level manager to talk about this.

Since this has not just happened to me, I believe this is a scam. The same thing happened to our friend who gave his Brezza for the first service at Navnit Motors. So I think the scam is probably also at the level of Maruti Suzuki along with individual car dealers.
And I am sure many others will now check their cars and share similar experiences.

Please help me about the same. Please support if you have experienced anything similar.

I want to lodge a formal police complaint and a legal case if possible. And I need more proof for the same.

I would request the Consumer Forum to help me decide how I should proceed further for lodging a complaint and if there are any other actions that I can take.

It is serious because, the Navigation System is one of the main reasons why consumers buy the top-end fully loaded car. Our extra money for buying a higher category has gone waste because the Navigation System will not work without the chip.

Thank you,
Somit Mehta

Delivery of car was not made even after 1 month of payment. Kept giving false commitments and never fulfilled them.
I would like to know why the system is without a remote . It is dangerous for the driver to look down to change channels. It is a very serious matter .
