Medi Assist India — Poor customer service | |||
I am a mediclaim policy holder. The policy is issued by New India Assurance Co. Ltd, Chennai. TPA for this policy is Medi Assist Indid. As per norms laid down by this TPA, the policy holder has to inform the TPA immediately on getting admitted to the hospital. I needed to get admitted to the hospital on[protected]. I desperately tried to contact Medi Assist on[protected]/49066500. I could not contact them. The hospital agreed to admit me and get clearance from TPA. On getting discharged I had to wait 7 hours to get out of the hospital refused to let me out without the approval of TPA. This was a bigger mental/physical torture than going through the treatment.My repeated attempts to contact TPA on the given tel.nos. failed as the phones were continuously engaged.Finally on getting the clearance at 6 o'clock in the evening it was found that certain amounts were deducted.As the amount was considerable the hospital officials and I tried to contact the TPA to seek clarifications, but failed to contacta them as the line were either busy or kept off the hook. I finally had to pay the difference amount and got out of the hospital at 8.00 P.M.Due to poor facilities and delay in processing claims I have gone through a lot of physical/mental torture, that too when I am in poor health. I want to be compensated by Medi Assist for a sum of Rs.25000/-. Besides the TPA has deducted certain sums for which I am actually eligible . I shall take up this issue separately.
