[Resolved] Mondelez India Foods / Cadbury India — Product | |||||
Dear representative, This is to inform you that i bought two chocolates of cadbury (Cadbury dairy milk silk caramel 136 g and cadbury dairy milk silk bubbly 120 g) from Gupta fresh in rana pratap bagh, new delhi-110007, on 18th august, 2016. Out of these two, bubbly was already expired, with manufacturing date of 11/15 and caramel silk (Mfd :12/15) had an ageing expiry but had a very strong unsettling foul smell coming out of it, when i opened the pack. Being a faithful and regular consumer of cadbury, i purchased your product in full confidence without checking the expiry date and consumed it. Post consumption, it triggered food poisoning and i've been feeling nausea since then, that is when i checked the expiry date. Now that i remember, bubbly chocolate was kept at the counter by the shopkeeper as a gimmick/malpractice to sell it to the customer, since it was expired and people would’ve bought it on a was festive day. It shouldn't have been placed in the outlet if it was expired, rather should’ve been kept away from customer’s reach (Instead of putting it at the cash counter) or the company should’ve taken it back from the shopkeeper. Caramel was placed in your fridge which i think now (Keeping in mind the faulty smell), was not working properly. Even if it had an aging expiry and the fridge was not working properly, the company should’ve strictly instructed and barred the outlet from selling such a delicate product for some time. Not only the outlet, the company stands equally responsible for not enforcing strict measures regarding removal of aging and expire stock from the outlet. I planned to gift them to someone on the occasion but was left disappointed and in an embarrassing situation after eating one of the chocolates and opening the other one. This is highly unfortunate and displeasing, at the outlet level and company's end, as i've been buying your products ardently, without even bothering about the other options available at similar prices. For a brand like cadbury, i can’t think of associating something like this as the level of standards that have been set, are humongous. I want you to revert on this a. S. A. P and provide me really suitable solution as i’m grossed out of this experience and am in a mood to escalate this matter ahead!
