Mumbai Traffic Police — Nightmarish Traffic at Lucky Signal Bandra (West) - Near Station | |
Lucky Restaurant signal has become somewhat a nightmare with the 4-way junction handling traffic signal
The problem can be better understood if one took into account the problems faced by local residents namely;
• Too much leeway given to motorists going towards or coming from Mahim via SV Road. The signals are so badly timed to give those motorists the best right of way as compared to Bandraites
• Hill Road is so narrow that the mouth of the road allows travel towards Mahim, Khar, & Bandra Railway Station. Motorists going towards Mahim or Sion or Dadar must use the Bandra-Worli Sea Link or be forced to do so. This Bandra Mahim interchange is an absolute nuisance
• BEST Buses are best placed to take a turn towards Bandra Railway Station from the HP Petrol Pump signal instead of Hill Road. If they turn inward towards Hill Road, empty buses clog the road, leaving motorists with very little space to manoeuvre besides serving no purpose as no passengers get on
• The worst case scenario is negotiating the Lucky Restaurant signal during peak hours by Auto/Bus! It takes no less than 7-8 minutes to negotiate the stretch which is pure agony both in terms of waiting & taking a massive hit on the wallet. Normal fare from Bandra Station to Mount Mary takes Rs.32 but in times of heavy traffic like this nothing less Rs.45
