my last correspondence with mr. Sanjay herwade (Dy. Commissioner)
Solid waste management, thane was dt dec 4th 2015
However today, i am pained to see the worst scene at the same spot
And it is every day the same story. Today when i checked with the staff
On duty for cleaning, i was told for the last two days, garbage pick-up
Truck did not come for collect the garbage??
I am surprised where thane city is becoming fastest growing on the
Outskirts along ghodbundar road where high rise properties are coming
Up and we are still not well equipped to clear garbage on day to day
Basis nor we are providing enough garbage containers at the spot.
Last time i was told by the officer in charge that there are no enough
Containers available and the situation is still the same.
On one side we are spending crores of rupees on "creating awareness
Among people on"swacha bharat abhiyan"and on the other side
Municipal corporations are not well equipped in garbage management
Effectively and efficiently?? Even enough dustbins are not installed
For people to throw garbage??
We certainly need to have a time-bound plan in place to effectively
Deal with daily garbage collection. I would be very happy to meet you
Personally in this regards as"swacha bharat abhiyan" is a movement
Launched by pm and its success depends on the citizens participation and
Proper planning and execution by the municipal garbage management.
I do understand behavior of our people is totally uneducated like and
Out-of-box thinking is required to deal with the situation on this campaign.
This is today's picture i am mailing you for your ref.
i would like to here from you on this issue at the earliest.

Are our local Municipal Corporations serious about Swach Bharat Abhiyan ?? There seems to be no planning on garbage collection and it seems to me a total mismanaged show everywhere.
We need to be proactive in Garbage collection and come up with planned efforts to dispose of daily garbage in planned manners. I am told... enough garbage containers are not available or Garbage collection vehicle in not coming to collect garbage on the daily basis. These are absurd excuses and not really speak well about the Garbage Management Team. We are just not doing enough to solve this serious issue which is becoming the health hazard and monsoon will make it worst. The stink on the streets is killing and the authorities in Waste management seem to be least concerned. It is a shame. On one side Thane is growing faster in population and high rise towers on the Ghodbunder Road are adding to the population explosion.
Should our Municipal authorities not work proactively to manage garbage management issues?
