My mother suffers from chronic lower back pain. We had seen the half-page advertisements of OPTM Health Care in various national newspapers which promised pain relief including from back pain. In fact, their website claims as follows: "These Phyto-Medecines, uses live enzymes of plant cells which when applied externally on the skin, enters through the pores of the skin and is carried with the help of bloody to the affected areas. Once the human cell and plant cell come in contact with each other they share the properties of either re-growing or healing a damage part in our body naturally. These products have no chemicals or preservatives and thus are 100% safe to be used even on a new born baby to a pregnant women and also works for ages above 90 years. It is a unique invention of its type has the company has already been able to heal millions through-out the world. This is the only medication available in the market which can help you get rid of your pain for ever." We visited the OPTM Health Care centre in Delhi at GK-II. After speaking to the doctor/physiotherapist there, we were assured that my mother would be pain-free at the end of their treatment of 42 days!. The treatment involves massage with a special oil- three times a day, a foot soak and a mixture to be taken with a glass of water. One massage had to be done at the centre itself. Further, all pain-killers, calcium and muscle relaxant drugs had to be stopped. We were first offered a trial package of 4 days- (which costs around Rs. 13, 000). We took that package, and since the massage gave an initial relief, we took the 42 day package (which costs more than Rs. One Lakh!!). The entire payment was demanded upfront. My mother started the treatment and was given massages three times a day along with heat therapy. However, her condition started becoming worse instead of improving and we approached the doctors/staff there to understand if we should continue with the treatment. We were repeatedly informed and assured that increase in pain is normal (bcoz the cells are regenerating) and the pain would start reducing in a few days and we should continue the therapy. Relying on the assurance, my mother continued the therapy and was also abstaining from the pain-killers as per the strict instructions of the staff at OPTM. The treatment continued and my mother's condition progressively deteriorated, however, the same assurance was given by the doctors at OPTM time and again. Finally, I decided to speak to Dr. Apurba Ganguly who is the main doctor at OPTM. However, this was more difficult than getting through the President of the United States! I was categorically informed that Dr. Ganguly does not speak to patients over the phone and I would have to visit Kolkata from Delhi if I wish to speak to him! Anyway, after much pleading and requests, I was finally given the number of one Mr. Das who is the regional head. I spoke to him and he assured me that he would make me speak to Dr. Ganguly. I chased him for about three days, to no avail. The elusive Dr. Ganguly refused to speak to a distraught patient who just wanted to know if the treatment should be discontinued. The decision was soon taken out of our hands as on the 40th day of the treatment, my mother's condition had deteriorated so much that she was put on immediate bed-rest. So, the end-result of 40 trips to OPTM, spending over One Lakh, and chasing the doctors at OPTM Health Care was a complete deterioration in the health of my mother. Finally, we approached surgeons at various hospitals and she was given allopathic treatment. It is noteworthy that OPTM Health Care is continuing to advertise in a big way in the national dailies and more and more people are flocking to their centre in the hope that some relief may be in store. Relying on false assurances, we spent so much money on the treatment- with no results. OPTM Health Care should clearly mention in their advertisement that the treatment may or may not work, and also their doctors/staff should be candid enough to admit that their treatment is a hit or miss. The advertisement is clearly false and misleading and OPTM should not dupe desperate people in pain into believing that their treatment would definitely work. Also, Dr. Apurba Ganguly, the founder, should have the decency to speak to the patients over the phone- you just cant be too busy or arrogant for that. I would advise anyone who is thinking of going to OPTM to do a thorough research and talk to atleast 5 patients and their experience before embarking on the OPTM journey- if at all. Dear Mam this is to inform you that your mother who has been registered under us by the name of Mrs. Mani Dhawan, started the treatment on 27th of June, 2014 did not complete the entire treatment of 42 days but did it only for 37 days only. As per her signed records she did not apply the medicines as directed and thus there was a deficiency of 25% to 35% approx., thus pulling down the effectiveness of the treatment to approx. 12 to 13 days. She was very impatient from the very first day and wanted fast relive thinking her pain would just vanish in few days. Our protocol is based on Phyto- Medicines and these take time to heal your damage cells and tissues.
As you have rightly mentioned that first few days she did see improvement that’s because she was following the protocol strictly without any deficiency. Even though there was a high deficiency of the use of the medicine as the treatment progressed she did still see positive results where upon she herself signed the progress reports where her swelling in both the knees had reduced and her range of motion started improving from 125°to 135°. We are a bit surprise on how come someone with such positive review can reach a stage of complete bed rest. For your better analysis we have attached the reports.
You don’t expect a person to swallow harmful painkillers and steroids throughout their life which your mother has been doing for past so many years. After so many years she was away from all these drugs for more than 37 days where her body showed improvement and you still fail to understand the effectiveness of the treatment. The doctors did inform her that she would be taking a bit longer than expected with her healing process because of the deficiency and she did agreed to carry on with the treatment but never got back with the doctors after the 37th sitting. . As we say that we are not concern about your pain symptoms we are concern only with the root cause of the pain. Once the muscles, tissues, gels, cartilages, etc. repair or heals your pain will subsidies and the normal time taken for the human body to do that is approx. 42 days.
The reason why people flock and we have long waiting list for appointments because hundreds of people have benefited or has seen others benefit ; and for past years word of mouth has been a very strong influence for our growth without complains. After going through the complaint and subsequent response, I am in dilemma whether OPTM treatment would be effective for OA as well. I need to confirm the success of treatment by direct interaction with patients instead believing on advertisement. Can I have patients contacts, if any.

Cheats, complete cheats ...please do not waste your precious money by visiting the place.Something about the doctor, Dr Ganguly is more interested in taking awards rather than treating patients .The reason why they get so many patients in their advertising startergy .Dr Ganguly is never at his clinic and always touring from one centre to another or is busy collecting awards .When I went their, i was promised that my slip disc problem would be solved for ever.1st i was examined by Dr Ganguly's son Veeky, who holds a degree in business management (he 's not a doctor by any chance), who assured me that the treatment would be successful, then i met Dr Ganguly who assured me 100% that the treatment would do wonders(dont reckon they can give it in writing), i took the treatment for 42 days + 14 days .After 56 days of the treatment (with the oil and the machine ), i had no benefit.Dr Ganguly told me that i had not applied the oil properly and that the reason i was in pain, mind you till about 4-5 th week in the programme i was told i ll be 100 % ok but no that was no the case.After burning about 1.5 lakhs, i had no relief and was still in bad pain .
Advice for new patients:
1)If he gives you an assurance over a medical problem please tell him to give it in writing, tell him you are ready to pay double for your treatment .Most of the patients visit here for slip -disc or knee problem, which will cost them 1.5 or 2 Lakh rs.Tell Dr Ganguly that you 'll pay 4 lakh rs if you are even 80% cured but he will have to give the money back in case the treatment fails

We are very pleased with the responses which we get from the excitement/ curiosity when we claim that we can heal a patient and show his/her improvement over medical reports such as X-Rays, MRI, Blood –Test etc. This shows that people who undergo our protocol do heal completely after following what we have to say.

I was a patient of O.A. and surviving on pain killers. Two years back, I came to know about OPTM and had a chance to meet Dr Apoorva Ganguly at Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi. At that my condition was very bad despite phesio therapy and pain killers. I started the treatment and surprised to see the amazing results and pain vanished and I found myself normal. Very confusing and hospital responses not acceptable. No improvement till 35 th day of a treatment course of 42 days. Will any miracle expected in last 5 days? Really confused and not going for my mother. Sorry.

Dear all, please provide original feedback. Its very difficult to choose a right way where everyone giving the different idea. Recently I have visited to Park Street branch of OPTM Health Care. My father had a serious knee problem since last five years. OPTM offered us a very good plan to heal knee pain. But I am from a middle class family and afraid of loosing a lots of money in new treatment beside classic methods like knee replacement etc. Above all they did not give us any guarantee that if the therapy fails they take any responsibility yes or no. Seeing every reviews strictly I have noticed that OPTM giving a same excuse that the patient have not taking the therapy properly. If so happen to my father then what should I do?
I would like to correct an information as given by Mr Ayon Ganguly. Pain clinics were there in premiere institutes since the mid eighty's. To name a few : A successful pain clinic was started by Prof. G P Dureja, Prof anaesthesiology, in AIIMS since mid eighty's and is still running very successfully. My Mom has started OPTM recently and we are yet to see any improvements. However, I totally understand this is not magic and we need to give it some time. I am hoping to see some positive impact at the close of the 1st month.

I just called the toll free number for a booking for my back problem and they said the consultation fee is INR 1500 which is double than the fee of the best spine surgeon in Kolkata.
So I think this is just a money sucking organization.

I wish to bring to your notice a very genuine episode in the Rashbehari branch that happened a few years back. My mother was suffering from high BP and sugar and we thought OPTM could help us. An appointment was booked and after paying the consultation fees when she finally was checked by Dr Apurba Ganguly, she and my dad was surprised to hear that Diabetes treatment has been discontinued in the clinic. Dr. Ganguly took full responsibility of the miscommunication and immediately ordered his staff to return all the consultation fees.
We could have created a fuss, but we did not, because not only was the behavior of the Ganguly family extremely courteous and patient, but Dr. Apurba Ganguly took full responsibility and ensured that the patient was not disheartened. He gladly acceded to further questions and guided us regarding the place where research in such lines is on, and that he was not able to conjure time enough to conduct that research. All along I watched the proceedings of the clinic which is so dedicated to the upliftment of people in pain. From one director standing continuously to usher and guide the patients to their appropriate cabins, to another director ensuring that when a person has stood so long in the queue, is offered the Director's chair just to relax her paining legs, they have left no stone unturned to ensure heir visitors are well treated in whichever stage of pain they are.
The fault in our case lay with the staff who took the registration, and yes, even though there was heavy rush, their mistake was unpardonable. Even the advertisement was misleading. But still, we appreciated the endeavor to control the damage. Can you tell me of one hospital here in Kolkata that does that? And for those of you who are complaining from outside Kolkata, please pay a visit to their Kolkata outlets to see how common people are benefiting from Dr. Ganguly's prescription. There is ample opportunity to interact with other patients and stop whenever you want to. Conversion may be important to their staff, but definitely not to the family behind this cause.

I have tried contacting OPTM over email and online chat. I have sent at least 5-6 emails and online chats but nobody has cared to respond. I am extremely frustrated by this lack of professionalism.
I am desperately trying to get a direct appointment with Dr. Apurba Ganguly as only then will I decide whether to continue with the treatment any further or not. Of the 90 days treatment, 1 month has been completed almost with absolutely ZERO result. At this point I will continue the treatment only if I am able to have a direct consultation with Apurba Ganguly.

I was thinking of starting the treatment but having gone through the comments above, I thank God that I was saved from people like you. Specially after reading above that your son is masquerading as a doctor without any medical qualifications, I can only infer that at best you are quacks or even worse cheats out to make a quick buck at the cost of innocent patients. In the entire world, billions of dollars are spent on research and millions of man-days are lost due to such disabilities. If you treatment is so revolutionary, you should be getting a noble prize in medicine! I have taken the treatment in Kolkata Rashbehari and my brother in law in Mumbai for osteo- arthritis and cervical spondylosis
I have got wonderful results duly finishing their 60 day programme. I work in a MNC in Kolkata which is into Information Technology and my brother is a researcher in biotechnology. I had read the above negative comments but when my brother went through their published peer reviewed research papers he told me that OPTM's pain protocol is completely scientific and evidence based as communicated in the advertisement. After that i crossed checked with all the profile link of people who have commented in the forum I discussed this with their management to my surprise except two profiles all were fake ID generated to sabotage the companies images.
I then traced all the IP addresses what i found was very shocking 90% of the comments came from the same IP address.
As Ayondeep has mentioned in a comment to mention the patient ID which no one is doing hence once should be careful to judge the treatment with these stupid & vague comments. It such a big crime to sabotage anyone's image one can be charged of Cyber Crime.
The last comment is more shocking as i found out from their team that there were no interview taken in the name of Rohini Chakrabarti. I personally feel Rohini needs to keep hersel[censored]pdated as OPTM is not only has registered doctors but a team of well qualified scientists involving Vice -chancellors, head of the department & research scholars from top Universities in Kolkata. And regarding coming under AYUSH they are not only registered phytomedicines under them but recently they have also received an award from the AYUSH Minister for their remarkable research on phytomedicine. I would also like to comment on the MDoc if you are from Pune at-least spell it properly (POONA is what you spelled it as) Can you provide your patient registration number ?? If you dont know the spelling of place you live in i doubt you can also measure blood pressure or weight. Do you have a blood pressure machine in the house please mention what is model name and also what machine did they use in OPTM clinic?? Please mention the same ASAP.
For all new & existing readers of this forum i would request you to visit them before you jump on to any conclusion by reading all the above fake comments. I have benefited my before and after reports are with me please feel free to mail me anytime i can assist you with my number once i receive a mail from you. I dont wont to share my number in a public forum. My brother in-law is also scheduled to finish his treatment in 9 days and according to him he has drastic improvements, . I have met more 20 patients during my treatment in their Rashbehari center 80% satisfaction is what they mentioned, amongst them one had come to OPTM on a wheelchair now he walks without any support. Doesn't that say a lot?? Please meet or discuss your issues with their Patient coordinator who could of great help.
