[Resolved]  Oyo Rooms — Booked room (and paid) for 3 guests - hotel refused to entertain 3rd guest and pathetic services of hotel

Hi,

I finally get time to write about the horrific incidence I faced at Oyo, Bhubaneswar. After this, I have vowed to myself to never use OYO again in my life.

Here goes my story. I booked a room for 3 guests (paid Rs 300 extra for 3rd guest) at OYO Bhubaneswar. On reaching the hotel at around 10 pm, the hotel manager refused to entertain the 3rd guest saying that his hotel only allowed 2 people in 1 room. I showed him by booking voucher which clearly stated 3 guests but he was in no mood to listen.
I called OYO team and the executive talked to hotel manager on phone. Hotel manager refused to listen even to him and told us that there was nothing we could do to get 3rd person accommodated (this was despite paying full amount for 3rd guest).

After 2 hours of haggling with him at night, we finally got a stinking room at midnight. With nowhere to go at that hour, we decided to sleep. Next morning, I called OYO again as the hotel manager refused to provide breakfast or hot water to 3rd person. Oyo again kept on maintaining that manager had to provide breakfast to 3rd guest. When I told them that he was not agreeing at all, OYO said they would call within next few minutes to resolve the issue. Obviously, no one called.

There were more issues with the room that aren't worth ignoring. There was no WiFi despite clearly advertised as a WiFi place. The toilet had no water nozzle and the hotel refused to provide toilet paper. The room was shabby, small and smelled bad.

In a way, I was conned by OYO as they charged me for 3 guests but provided services only for 2. Not to mention the inordinate amount of time wasted on haggling with people in hotel and on phone. Not my idea of a holiday! And Oyo did its best to ruin it for me.

Despite this, when I raised this over and over again on phone and mail, the not so courteous customer care representative did not refund the extra Rs 300 paid by me (which they obviously should). Instead, I was provided with a Rs 300 coupon and an expiry date in Oct so that I could be conned again by OYO. On protesting, she simply refused a refund and said a coupon for future booking is all she could give.

Would never recommend OYO to anyone on account of this lousy and unprofessional behavior.
