[Resolved]  Peerless Hospital — POOR TREATMENT & WRONG DIAGNOSIS

Address:Kolkata, West Bengal

Myself is Manish Sharma residing in Kolkata mobile number [protected], all my necessary details are mentioned in the profile. My complaint for poor treatment which happened in Peerless Hospital in Kolkata and I was handed with a bill of Rs. 20000+ On 16th of October my dog bite's my maid Bijili Sardar in the evening, i immediately took her to the near by medical shop and she was vaccinated with rabipur injection and as well as tetanus. Next day she has a pain in her right leg and their was also a swelling where the dog had bite, we immediately took her to the Peerless hospital for treatment, she was attended by doctors present in emergency ward, wound area was cleaned and x-ray was done and in the report their was a very minor hairline fracture appeared. Some doc from OPD department also attended her and without doing any treatment on the wound he plastered her right leg and also gave some medicine, also asked us to visit after 7 days. From 2nd day onward, her pain had increased and she was down with fever and also vomited on regularly. We again took her to the Peerless hospital emergency ward on 24th Oct and told everything to the docs present. They themselves told agreed that plaster should not have been done. They immediately asked us to admit Bijili Sardar in the hospital and so that treatment can be done, after discussion and docs advice we admitted her they took Rs. 15000 in advance, where she was being treated with regular dressing on the wound and injection and medicine dosage was being given. When the doc visited her and saw the situation, he said “FOR THIS SHE HAS BEEN ADMITTED” this we came to know from my maid. The most importantly doc under whom she was Dr. Amitava Dasgupta, when ever we tried meeting him and tried to speak with him over the phone, neither he nor this team member responded. We had no clue as what is her present situation of the wound and how much time will it take to recover. Then on 27th Oct we took a decision to discharge her and take her to private hospital. We told the patient to tell doc that she will be discharged because there was no communication about the situation, when doc got the information about this he called me in my mobile explaining the issue. Then we realized that proper treatment is not happening in the hospital and every time we were kept under confusion and darkness. We got her discharged on 27th Oct and with a discharge summary we kept her under regular dressing under a private compounder and regular medicine continued. Later on 1st Nov when we took her to a private doc and explained the whole story, and asked her how she will recover, also another xray was done to see the condition of fracture and to my utter surprise in the report, there was no fracture. The doc then treated her and said she will be fine in a month time just by regular dressing and dosage of medicine. I can’t believe such a hospital like Peerless can do this a patient, just to make the bill amount bigger and elongate the treatment and wound. Please look into this matter and take some action.I want my money back, which i paid for something which can be termed as proper negligence and case of very poor treatment. That OPD doc, just did not do the right thing and also the hospital.
