My spouse have applied for passport on 18-may-2016 and the police verification is still pending for the past 3 weeks. We are staying at padur, kelambakkam, omr, chennai.

When contacted kelambakkam police station, i was told that they did not receive any request to carry on the police verification. So i had to contact sp office, kanchipuram who informed me that from kelambakkam station no one came to collect the file to do the verification. I dont understand where the gap is as the people are pointing to each other here. But am getting impacted because of the delay. When quoted this at sp office kanchipuram, they asked me to come and collect the report and then to handover to kelambakkam police station to initiate the verification process. I dont understand what system is in place?
