[Resolved] PVR Cinemas — Excess amount charged - Refund not granted | |||
I had been to PVR cinemas, Pheonix Mills, Lower Parel, Mumbai on 4th Novemeber 2013. I bought 4 tickets for the 2pm show of Gravity at the IMAX screen totaling to an amount of Rs.1520. When I purchased my tickets at the counter at approx 12:30 with my credit card after the first swipe I was told that the transaction was not successful eventhough I had already even received an SMS from HDFC Bank for the successful transaction. I was then told by the manager that eventhough I had received a message from the bank in the records of PVR the transaction did not show successful and hence he swiped my card again.. The manager a Mr.AJINKYA promised me that the amount of 1520 (i.e. 380 X 4) will be charged only once .. However the amount of Rs.1520 has been charged twice in my credit card. After following up with them repeatedly, i was told that there was a fault from the side of the bank. On follow up with the bank I received a reply with the details of the transaction which proved that the fault was on the part of PVR and that the money was clearly paid twice. The details received from the bank are: " Dear Ms. Vora, Thank you for writing to us. This is with reference to your e-mail regarding the below mentioned transactions S.NoTransaction DateTransaction AmountMerchant NameARNAuth Code104-Nov-20131, 520.00 PVR PHOENIX MUMBAI85215223308343175436032062232204-Nov-20131, 520.00 PVR PHOENIX MUMBAI85215223308343175436115064380 We understand from your mail that one of the aforesaid transaction was not successful. We would like to confirm that the aforesaid transaction has been processed successfully to your card account from our end basis the instructions received from the merchant. Details of the transactions processed to your card account are given above for your reference. In this regard, we request you to take this mail as a proof to the merchant confirming the transaction was successfully processed to your card account and also request the merchant to liase with the member bank for further clarification. In case, still you have any concerns, we request you to revert to us with the recent dated confirmation from the merchant validating that they are not in receipt of the payment to enable us do the needful. " The reply from the bank has also been forwared to PVR however still no solution has been reached. It has been 5 months since the transaction.
