Exchange of bought goods

I bought a brand new desktop from a shop in Lamington Road in Mumbai.Now, I came to know that UPS is unnecessary for me as I already have an inverter and an UPS wont work on an inverter connection.Can I exchange the brand new untouched UPS for any other computer commodity from the same shop ? Or any chances of returning the UPS and getting my money back ?
