If there is anyone contemplating the idea of opting for Raajnett as your internet service provider in ‪#‎Chennai‬, I have just one..actually two words for you. DON'T! EVER! They provide the worst service possible and don't even ask about customer support. They have a very different idea about what customer service means! And that's saying a lot, considering we've tried Airtel earlier. We opted for ‪#‎Raajnett‬ a month back as a trial, paying Rs.1200 as advance payment. And I admit we fell for their promises of 40Mbps speeds(that's right!). Our bad! But in our defense, Airtel does not exactly provide the best speeds in my area. The speed at which their sales guys contact us to set up and install a connection is so incredible that it was like they had set up camp right outside the apartment - just a beck and call away! The installation charge of Rs.500 seemed actually cheap for the fast and timely work they did. For the first two weeks, it went on like clockwork apart from a few forgivable glitches. And we basked in the self-appreciation of taking a good purchase decision! Well guess what, we were WRONG! And how! Post the ‪#‎ChennaiRains‬, the connection dropped and its been dead ever since.(been two weeks now) I have made nearly 12 calls to the customer care number and 8 calls to their sales guy, including the drastic step of texting our address to the sales guy, so that he does not have to waste time looking for that. (facepalm). Their customer care is a dummy service with agents repeating like parrots that 'We have forwarded the complaint, it will be resolved in 24 hours.Madam." The common reasons given - a) server down b) no service staff c) switch needs to be changed d) we don't know, ma'm. And it takes exactly 4min, 26 sec to connect to their line every time! A huge test of patience for an irate customer. After a lot of haggling with one of them, he connected me to a supervisor (apparently) who 'empathized' with my situation, 'consoled' me and 'promised' that it will will be rectified FOR SURE by evening the same day. He actually said I would not even have to think about calling back again, coz it'll be done that fast! Well, its a good thing there's a 4.30 evening everyday, hopefully it'll be done on one of those! Considering the scam that they are running, its not even expected that they'll refund any of the amount. So that's not even a question here. What really made me lose it to the point of writing this is that one of their customer service agents 'advised' me to log in to their forum and raise a complaint there as well. How in the world am in supposed to log in to an online forum WITHOUT a freakin' internet connection!!! That was my complaint in the first place! Looks like he din't get it. So in the interest of humanity, I decided to write this. Yeah..you can thank me later. Now don't say nobody warned you!
