[Resolved] Sony India — complaint against warranty provider for refusing to take any actions | |||
Respected Authority, I Sanket Chordiya have bought Sony laptop(Product name-SVF15219SNB, DATE of PURCHASE-25/9/13)and also have upgrades to 3 yr warranty which is now valid till 24/09/2016. (Warranty pack serial no-212358). ISSUE- As per your ‘SERVICE-CENTRE’ description of problem :- “There is a crack found in the (fibre)material around screws, near hinges, which is causing the keyboard and base of laptop to detach from each other. This is either due to tightening of hinges.” Since there is no physical damage occurred by me(I do not play any role in tightening of hinges) and is solely due to false compatibility of hinges during configuration/packaging of the product itself or poor material of the product, I had requested them to ‘replace the base’ to which service centre asked me to pay Rs.5500/- Although this should be covered in the warranty, you have failed to agree to take any remedial action and are therefore in breach of contract. I would make one final request for you to take remedial action in accordance with our contract. If however you are not prepared to do this, I will have no choice but to instruct a third party to take this action and will then seek reimbursement from you in full.
