We bought Sony LED KDL-42W900B (MRP Rs.82, 900) from Aarco One, Lajpat Nagar-II, Delhi and yesterday an engineer came for installation and demonstration at Dilshad Garden, Delhi.
When asked for suggestion regarding what should be the best viewing angle to the Sony’s engineer who came for installation & demonstration; his answer was wherever you will say, I will mount... (this kind of answer can't be expected from a professional or an expert...and not to my surprise...he later proved that he was not at all a professional).
After installation, as a part of demo; he was showing how to increase decrease volume, change channel and add apps in my fav from the given set of Apps. At one point when an error popped that - " Feature not available in current mode"...when asked why this is so... his reply was...by mistake I pressed some button (pls note..I still get this error at various events). Next asked him to connect to our home wifi...to which thankfully he did...but while logging in to skype.. there was some Error - regarding video output & connection to internet.. to which he said..you need to have a skype ID and pwd to login... I had to tell him that dude...I take interviews from skype...
There are so many such instances that cannot be summed over here and finally he left saying that he doesn't have much time to spend at one place and if you know how to use laptop.. you can use this TV also (nevertheless to say..he was abusing the other customer after disconnecting the phone (whenever he was getting inquiry call about his visit).
When I told him that you are not helping us properly and we might have to call sony customer care..to which he very rudely replied that I am not going come again and if you will call Sony customer care; for revisit; they will charge you very heavily.
After he left when we contacted customer care and requested for demo..by some other engineer..thankfully they agreed but again in the morning..we got call from the same guy inquiring what went wrong as he gave the full demo (as per him).
When I told him..you didn't explain how to browse internet..other that the ones in My apps (he is giving a foolish reply that you need to type alphabet..a, b, c, d...), when asked how should I get into3D mode..no ans...skype issue...he is replying that you need to install webcam...he realized what he said when I told him that boss...this tv has a webcam installed at top... then he is saying..I am guiding you..you update the software.
When I told him that why didn’t you update the software yesterday and this guy has same reply..it takes lot of time and I don’t have time.
I know there is no rocket science that only SONY'S brilliant engineers can decipher in the TV; we lay man can also learn to operate this smart tv in due course..but as a customer..if you commit for a proper demo & installation; atleast keep you words and send someone who understands the TV in and out and customer's can have delight not only in buying the TV and also in after sales service..
Pls remember that SONY has a brand value...customer pays extra bucks to own commodity of your brand...don’t behave like other organizaion..which only focus is to sell the product and "Zero" after sale service.
Now, to my request to SONY; I am still waiting for some proper demo but pls don’t send the same engineer as our time is also precious. Was this information helpful? |
