Product: Sony Z1
This has been the worst experience with Sony as a branded product company.
I used my Sony Z1 mobile handset in the swimming pool as suggested by the manual and claim by Sony with all the flap closed.
Inspite of this the Phone got waterlogged, and this happens to lots of Sony Z series phones. Every time Sony tries to put the same blame on the customers and this is ethically wrong.
Phone is still in the warranty and service center guys says its out of warranty. They say that the water should go inside the phone possibly through the flaps. While as per me the flaps were closed. They right away blame the customer of the open flap. I remember that the same flaps has been closed properly.
Service center says that the phone got waterlogged and blaming everything on the customer and charge abruprtly amount of half the cost of the mobile phones.
When asked for the logs and tests details and the results, the service center agreed to share the details of results and says they should not share the logs of tests and not even the phone logs, which proves that the flaps were closed. Additionally as a customer i feel cheated, as i bought the phone on the primary marketing pattern of Waterproof. Even within the Sony there were contradiction if the phone Z1 is waterproof or water resistant.
There were cases going on with Sony in another countries with the status of Z1 as Water resistant or waterproof. As per the same Sony cannot claim their Z1 phones as Waterproof and changed the status to Water-resistant, while in India the phones of Sony has been marketed as Waterproof, which creates lots of confusion with the customers.
Overall the service of the service center and the overall follow up were the worst with no follow-ups or calls from Sony.
Its almost the month, while the phone has been with Sony and not satisfied with the response of the customer service center.
I would request that the phone should be covered under the warranty and Sony should perform the repair the same free of cost as its the product fault. If Sony claims not to repair the same, then i would require the full refund of the cost of phone along with the mental agony of the issues with the Sony.
