[Resolved]  Sony — Sony Xperia Z faulty Glass design

I had purchased Sony Xperia Z with proper bill and is still under warranty. I was clicking pictures on a hot and humid day in sunlight using the phone in India, when suddenly I noticed a hair line crack appeared on the screen and half my touch screen went dead. Now I just want to make it very clear there was no physical impact and I did not drop the phone, It was in my hands when suddenly this hairline crack appeared. There appears to be an issue with the Glass display as it was not even durable enough to stand temperature changes. I have taken it to the authorized service center in Pune and they have refused to take it under warranty saying that the crack is because of a physical damage. On further argument they have taken the phone outside warranty and said they will send it to sony for inspection and will come up with an amount that would take sony to replace the phone. They said it could go as high as 17500. I see that the internet is full of similar complaints and there are numerous forums and petitions for this faulty Glass issue with Xperia Z. This clearly suggests that I am not the only one with this issue and there are thousand others. Sony service centers in India still denies it. Its high time they acknowledge this issue and recall faulty handsets.
