Standard Chartered Bank — Credit card overcharging issue / incorrect billing | |||||
Card No. [protected]/ [protected] Issue - Misplaced card utilized despite informing the bank Incident - The amount of Rs 9000 used by the person who stole the card. we made the payment of Rs9000 to settle the account. Issues - The bank has inflated the amount by adding interest despite informing well in advance. I had a credit card no [protected]/ [protected] issued by Stanc. I had lost the card on 7/7/2002 and informed the bank on 8/7/2002 regarding the misplace of the card. The phone banking officer Priti Fernandes confirmed that no transaction was made on the card. However, there was Rs9000 withdrawl happened on the card which I got to know from the statement received on it. After that, still we made the payment of Rs9000 to settle the account. However the bank has sold the receivables to another organization and they have made the outstanding as INR 226000 and are giving me threatening calls everyday. I believe it is not a justified issue. We had also given several notices from our advocates in order to get this sorted but have not heard from the bank. Can you please look into the matter and get it sorted?
