[Resolved]  Standard Chartered Bank — Fake Loan offer to Make Exide Life Insurance

I got a call from Delhi number[protected] claiming to be calling from Standard Chartered Bank and offered me Overdraft Facility, As I was a customer of SCB I believed them immediately without having any doubt.

This person by name Sharma told me to give my PAN number to cross check I credit status which I did. After a while a lady by name Ankita Sharma called from the same landline number and told me that I am eligible for the overdraft facility and asked me to give insurance policy number for security of the loan.

I told her that I do not have insurance policy, She immediately told me that SCB has tie up with Exide Life Insurance and she can assist me in getting the policy which I agreed.

After sometime a person by name Naseem called me and gave me the contact person name and number of Exide Insurance in M.G.Road branch of bengaluru.

I spoke to the concerned person and told that I want to deal only in the office which they agreed, I visited there office and got my application filled and got the insurance for Rs. 4, 00, 000/- and paid the premium of Rs. 26000/- by cash.

After 2 days I got call from Exide Insurance and re confirmed all the details filled in the application and told me that I will receive the policy in 20 - 25 days which I got. There is no problem from Exide Insurance Company.

In the process of getting the insurance this lady by name Ankita Sharma called me constantly to check whether I have paid the premium and told me give the policy number for loan purpose.

After receiving the policy, I called her mobile number +[protected] which she had given me earlier and gave her my policy number. She said all terms and complete and I should receive my OD Kit in 10 - 12 days time by mail to my address.

I followed up with her every 2 - 3 days and luckily her mobile number works and she herself picks the call, but gave me only false promises like it is in accounts department, I will call back, I am not in office, this went on for nearly 20 days, Now after completing 45 days of followup I asked her to confirm whether the loan is really happening or not and she told me I will call back, but never called me since a week.

She claims to be an employee of Standard Chartered Bank, Borivali Branch, Mumbai, I told her how come you are calling from delhi number while working in mumbai and she said that SCB has centralised server which is routed via delhi so the number displays as delhi, I was almost confirmed there move.

Although I do not have any complaints against Exide Life Insurance or Standard Chartered Bank, I am writing this complaint to create awareness for the reputed companies and new victims who are getting calls.

If they cant sell there insurance product through marketing better do some hard work and make an earning rather than giving false promises and one fine day shutting down permanently.
