[Resolved] Tamilnadu Electricity Board (TNEB) — Meter not working | |||
My elderly parents residing at W - 22, Annanagar, Chennai 40 have been having problem with one meter not working. We have 2 meters and one meter has not been working for the last couple of months. As a result, the slab on the only working meter is too high, resulting in a very high bill, too much for a retired elderly person to afford. When we approached the Electricity dept in Annanagar, we were asked to see the Junior Engineer. We have tried to contact this person several times in the last 2 months, but we are constantly told that he is on vacation. My consumer No: 16902624 belonging to the 09-Chennai-south region. Our Meter No: 40499468 has STOPPED working. As a result our, slab has gone up and our bills are extremely high.
We are an 80 yr old retired couple and such high bills are hard to afford for us.
Please look into this matter and do the needful.

myself Balamurugan, my service no is[protected] name & address (Rathinavalli, no 10&11, E.K street, Alandur, chennai -16) we are tenant to the above mentioned address. Last billing cycle[protected] only meter reading person identified meter is not working. They put average even peek two values they took average so I paid Rs 2625/- they informed me they will change meter, Its updated in computer. Till they didn't change the meter, This month[protected] they took meter reading & marked same amount. How i can pay for that amount, because of the meter shortage or E.B engg carelessness in consumer issue. I have all the records If I didn't get proper response from TNEB i may have to file the case against Alandur TNEB.

We feel your new meter will not working properly and it runs without consuming the current.
