Tata Docomo — Tata docomo charging very high swachh bharat cess

Government of india has imposed an additional cess called the “swachh bharat cess”. Sbc is levied by central government on the value of all taxable services @.50%. The new rate of service tax inclusive of sbc will be 14.50%.

Sbc will be applicable only on those services which are provided on or after 15th november, 2015. Fully exempted services and those services which lies in the negative list are out of the purview of sbc. Sbc will be charged separately in the invoice. Means, if value of taxable service is rs. 1, 000/- service tax will be rs. 140/- and scb will be rs.5/- tax payer cannot avail the benefit of cenvet credit by paying swath bharat cess. It will increase tax burden on individuals.
