Tata Docomo — Very very worst customer service

My first bad experience was address verification done by docomo after 10 days of my mob number's activation. They called my num 4 or 5 times. But i left my mob in home & hence not answered(Mobile is not allowed inside my college).My num got blocked.

I did compliant. They called my alternate number. Same story ( as i could not be with my mob 24 hrs a day). They said that they came to the address given & door was locked, none in the house, call not attended and other silly reasons. The door was not locked on their every arrival. Finally my num got relieved after 10 days of struggle. ( I paid rental for these days too).

I lost my sim, and I blocked incoming & outgoing calls. I approached trichy chatram branch for new sim, they said they don’t have postpaid sim cards (stock) then. (later I came to know that docomo is always keen in selling postpaid sim, & they always have it).After 15 days my bill came for unused sim card.

The executive(ganesh) there misguided me to stop the billing as my sim was lost 15 days ago. I contacted higher officials. My bill became 0. He also promised me to change my num into prepaid.

After 30 days, he gave me a prepaid sim & said ur num is now a prepaid one. After a long Struggle I came to know that my num was still in postpaid & was cancelled & couldn't retrieve. He didn’t even know the status of the num.

I also asked him to change an another postpaid into prepaid, but never responded to it. He always missed the proof & photos (nearly 5 or 6) & sim's unique number. I called his mob num numerous times but he never attended calls from my num. (he got caught by a new num every time).

I shouted at them. . Here nearly 45 days wasted & not even 0.001 % of my work got done.

I know they don’t get incentives or get black Mark for postpay to prepay conversion. But what happened to retrieval of lost sim? If operator change is done, it is loss for the company not for them. They retain their job….But what about retaining customers


Next i went to thillai nagar branch, i was asked to forget about the lost num and they Showed me another lists of silver num & i declined. Then my 2 requests are responded at once& i agreed to convert my num to prepaid on the chennai docomo team's call, but not registered. The call regarding num retrieval came & missed by me & never came again.

Branch executives behaved exactly like those ones. Never attended my calls, never gave retrieval request again. Then i called many officials and released my num. They got shocked when i went for the new sim. They asked me how could u retrieve this, as we didn’t give retrieval request 2nd time (I think they were thinking of taking revenge on me).

Next i asked for aircel to docomo mnp, they brainwashed me to buy new docomo num Instead. (mnp is for retaining previous num isn't it???)

Next is about docomo's 121...the app is always busy and executives asks us to call 1 hr later. If some issues are spoken to them, they will simply say to contact nearest Outlets which is a great trouble for me. I know docomo never gonna take actions regarding this. But I have to tell my story.

Another same type of actions done for my friend’s number too. The number from reliance is intentionally mnp-ed to docomo postpaid.(we asked for prepaid only).But they didn’t changed it to prepaid one month later, as they had promised. Even after 100 days it wasn’t done.


They respond immediately for new sim purchase, prepay to postpay conversion, tariff increment Requests as they got incentives for that. I suggest INCENTIVE CARE instead of CUSTOMER CARE for the outlets.

Then i paid my 2 bill amounts in advance for my nums 720030**** & 720090**** on dec 30th & done MNP to Aircel, I locked my another num [protected] on dec 10th & Ported this number[protected]*) to Vodafone yesterday from docomo. Soon I’m going to port another number(7845000***).I know, these 4 number conversions wont affect docomo much, but too many drops make flood. :)
