[Resolved]  Tata Photon Max WIFI — Poor connectivity and speed

I am terribly disappointed with the speed and connectivity in Pune and especially in the Viman Nagar area. I don't get regular connectivity and my speed averages below 100 kbps most of the time. I have reported to the local Docomo franchise in Viman Nagar, Pune on[protected] the very next day my connection was activated and several times after that. Every time there is an assurance that an upgrade of infrastructure is going on and the problem should be resolved in a weeks time. I have also complained to the Tata Docomo Customer Care with reference numbers[protected] and[protected]. Local Docomo people have contacted once and explained that its a problem with the entire city and it will be resolved in 8-10 days. I regret taking this service when other options like Airtel fixed line with around 2 Mbps actual speed, Mblaze, You Broadband etc with better speed options were available. When will my complain for slow speed of around 0.1 Mbps be addressed? Whats the status of complaint nos[protected],[protected]. Do I need to go to the International Court of Justice or the Supreme Court of India for my complains at TataDocomo?

Here is the same problem I am facing, When I took the TATA Photon max wifi postpaid connection, that time I was promised that it is fast and very good in quality, But unfortunately this speed is horrible since last more than months, several times complained, no results so far. All working under the TATA photon are speaking nonsense, without having any knowledge to resolve, Only they drag the things, making the things more frustrating, speed limit not crossing even 0.07MBPS. My service request number is[protected] and[protected]. Still it is not improved.I believe they should be sue for false promising during marketing.I should change the TATA number, earlier I had Tata Photon plus, that too was very slow, after complaining as per their suggestions I took this wi-fi connection 2 months back around, but this also found bogus. Now seriously thinking of changing the TATA itself. All nonsense technician has been bundled under TATA's brand and maligning the TATA brand.

Amazed at a response from the Customer Care!

Firstly, it is a fraud to sell your service with tall claims about high speed when you don't even have the basic infrastructure required to deliver a speed of the Jurassic age - meaning a dial-up connection.

Secondly, it is really surprising to hope that once a customer is trapped (by purchasing a stupid piece of hardware, the dongle) it is imperative that he will stick with the ISP.

Hope its not a hollow promise again!!!

The same happened for me as well. I am at Saltlake kolkata. These people cheated on us. I just bought it yesterday and the speed is around .1mbps.

I am located in Varanasi.
I have purchased Tata photon wi fi on 14.06.14 and my tata photon wi fi no. is [protected]
I was told that Tata photon wi fi will have high speed o[censored]pto 3.1 mbps and will work perfectly.
But since the day i purchased it i am getting speed of 250 kbps and I am unable to browse the internet.
As i am unable to browse there is no question of getting any speed on my second laptop.
I have been regularly complaining at you customer care and today an engineer visited me to check the photon wi fi device and I was told that there is no service of Tata photon wi fi in Varanasi.
I feel like I am cheated from such a reputed company - when you do not have serice of tata photon wi fi in varanasi then why are you selling it in Varanasi and doing false promise to customers?????
I was using BSNL broadband earlier and I got it disconnected only because I invested another Rs. 2400 to purchase Tata photon wi fi so that i can use 2 laptops and my mobile phone through tata photon wi fi
So as a customer I demand an explaination why i was fooled to buy tata photon wi fi when you do not have service in Varanasi.
I want to return tata photon wi fi and want my money back at the earliest.

i have a tata docomo photon max .My photon number [protected] is having very slow speed as i am staying in one of the best cities chandigarh. the speed is extremely slow the download speed is only 6kbps as stated it would be 6.2 mbps. Poor show for a reputed company like tata. It should be a tata good bye for a company.

I bought my photon max wifi two days back. It was activated only today morning, with an overnight delay. To worsen the situation, the internet speed is only 0.27 mbps, whereas a maximum of 6.2 mbps was promised. With the reason of location, timings and what not, I expect a speed of at least 2 or 3 mbps? 0.27 mbps when I'm paying 1.2k, it is totally unnacceptable. Please see to that this is taken care of. I have taken tata photon max WIFI exchanging my tata photon plus. It was working fine till I had done a recharge of 20 GB data 3 days before. The speed has reduced to 0.11 mbps. When complained they said it will get it resolved in 48 hours and it has been three days and still not resolved. I am following up continuously with the team but in vein. They said they had taken up a complaint and the same number will be sent to my mobile and email but I have not received any number. But whenever I call they say that they are working on my complaint. Photon Plus was great once upon a time, but Photon max is terrible. As I have to travel across the country for work, I know their connectivity situation --- it doesn't work in many locations in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. It doesn't work at all anywhere in Northeast India. Generally, if you are in a non-metro, the speed is terribly slow.

I was pleasantly surprised to find Vodafone 3G give me 2-3 mbps speeds in entire of Northeast and various other small towns. I think I am going to switch to that this month. I also keep an airtel prepaid and a reliance prepaid, just in case --- tata photon is the worst of the lot.

Don't buy it. Waste of money, effort and time.
i too am facing the same problem. my photon number is [protected]. i brought my connection 45 days back. i am continuously facing same problem called the customer care twice last month, they replied i am in high utilization zone and there is maintenance work on so it will improve with time . faced the problem continuously for the past month . called the customer carea gain today and now he says ill face this problem throughout as ballygunj in kolkata is a high utilization area. now that is not my problem. thrice i have called and no complain registered. this is just cheating. its high time the company does something about it.
I have a TATA PHOTON max wifi data card and was promised speeds of 6 Mbps but there has been no instance where the speed has gone beyond 512 Kbps.

Same issue here in Ahmedabad. On top of this the technical person Jignesh who visited my place is so rude and confidently says that this will not be resolved do whatever you want to do.. Wow!! Besides this they test the speed by connecting it to their own laptop instead of checking it by plugging it into adapter because they know this is not going to work..

A bad Output result form TATA DOCOMO WIFI tried everything to boost up the speed.when i bought its promise to give the High Speed but its not upto the mark its a cheat.

As given name TATA PHOTON WIFI pleae remove WIFI and add 2g internet service.

Please resolve or get the refund me.
Yesterday, I bought my photon max wifi . It's terrible speed is below 80 KBPS, I am unable to use Internet on single device. Customer care is worst, always getting reply all agents are busy try later.

I have been facing huge speed drop in internet using tata photon max wifi ([protected]) for the past 2-3 weeks in Ultdanga, kolkata. Whenever i call at [protected] they say that your area is highly utilized and that they are working on it. I am getting around 20 kbps of download speed as opposed to 6mbps promised during purchase. i have called around 3-4 times. They have never ever registered a complaint against this issue and always say the same thing that work is going on.

i have been using this connection for a long time and have never faced such a issue. Customer service has gone to worst.
They could not provide any approx time to solve this issue which is very strange. How can a company like TATA have such kind of service. They are cheating customers by not providing actual speed but charging customers every month without providing service.
