[Resolved]  Tata Sky — Poor Customer Service

I had subscribed to Tata Sky annual pack in March 2014. In April I subscribed to their jingala offer to try Acive Music for Re 1/- for a month. I was not satisfied with the Active Music and since May I have been calling up customer care and requesting them to stop the service. The customer care number is manned by non-professionals operating from their home. Most of the time you get distracted with the surrounding noise. They do not understand English, speak only in Hindi. After a struggle to find someone who speaks English, if you are lucky, you get a customer service representative who can talk in English. You explain your problem and pat comes the reply "I can not disconnect Active Music. I will connect you to a Senior. Again after a while, you get someone who starts questioning you why you want to discontinue Active Music. You explain your reasons and convince him to disconnect. He promises that it will be done in 24 hrs. But it will never be done. I have gone through this process at least 5 times and Active Music is still active and I lose out Rs.1.50 every day. I request your help to make Tata Sky officials to drop the pack and refund the charges levied from May 2014.

I have a tata sky connection with subscriber id [protected]
there is a main connection and an add-on 2nd tv
due to cyclone in Visakhapatnam, dish got damaged.
I have raised a complaint with the customer care on the 21st of oct 2014 (Work order No# FCVB40I) and they promised me to solve the problem in 24 hrs.
when it was not solved, I raised an online complaint in the 23rd oct (SR # SR[protected]
even then there was no response. on 25th they automatically closed my online complaint without even solving the problem.
I called them and made a request again. (W.O. ref # FECTBHP)
I have made repeated requests every day and they even got me to talk to their supervisors on 5 occasions.
on 29th I got a message that my complaint made on 21st is closed.
when I called the customer care, they said that it is a technical problem and even they could not understand why the problem is unsolved.
they then made a new request (W.O. # FG7SVUF).
even then the problem is unsolved.
when I called on 1st Nov at 11:58 hrs, they said that they could not retrieve my account details due to a technical glitch and asked me to call after an hour.
I called up again t 13:30 and they said "please call after 2 hrs".
i am being put at task for the past 12 days without any result.
i am unable to view my tv since after the hudhud cyclone and i regret the decision to purchase a tata sky connection. i wish to cancel both the connections and request a refund of the balance amount from my subscription.

My Id is [protected], for the past 10 days i am not able to view the Regional channels(Tamil&Malayalam), I have called to customer care on 05.04.2015, they told that there is a satellite up gradation is going on &the problem will resolved with in 24 hours.For the next day the channels are able to view, but the third day same problem persist.Then i have called to customer care and lodge a complaint, they told that with in 24 hours their technician will come & check the issue.At last a technician came on 12.04.2015 he checked and told that Set top box needs to replace with a new updated one, but at the time technician visit the set top box is working, he removed all the connections and told that take the box in to our office and we will replace with a new one at free of cost.He charge me 200 rs as servicing charge.The next Day 13.04.2015 my father take the Set top box to the Tata Sky office at palakkad, kerala they told that the box is not working because a lot of dust inside the box they demanded for five hundred rupees for the new set top box, My father told that he doesn't bring money after a long chat they give a new set top box to my father and told that rs 300 will be deducted in our account.We fitted the new Set top Box with Tv but still the Regional channel are not able to view. Inform this to the Tata sky office, He told he will arrange a person to check this issue.The technician called me and asked rs 200 as a service charge before he comes.Already I have pay rs 720 for this and the problem is not solved.This is a very very poor response from a corporate like Tata .Hope that i get a justice in this

I am not able to view any channels on tata sky, may be due signal issue or whatever from your side.

In spite of my repetitive complains nobody is bother to respond.I am only getting a SMS from your side that your complain is in process SINCE 3 rd of April 2015 and when i call customer care I get to hear only your recorded MSG that all our customer service executive are busy.

This kind of service was NOT EXPECTED FROM TATA'S.
Let me know when it will be resolved and WHY I SHOULD PAY FOR THIS INCONVENEINCE.

I've complained to Tata sky representative in April first week that my set up box is not receiving signal properly.
They conveyed apologies and promised that a technician will visit in next 24 hours to resolve the issue.

Waited for 5 long days but no one showed up. Called customer care again and heard that ticket has been closed.
I was pissed off and logged a new ticket, again waited for few more days and called them back regading technician visit. This time I was literally gone mad after hearing that this ticket has been closed too.

I wonder why the heck you people will close requests without attending it? How come you people play with customer's valuable time?

At last they got responded to my 4th complaint ticket and fixed the issue on April 30th. Complete one month I was suffered with this issue and they charged 271 rs for the month of April.

Only day I watched TV properly is April 30th and I paid 271rs for one single day in April.
I demand an compensation for this. My subscriber id: [protected] and registered mobile number: [protected].

Please ref my Tata Sky ID [protected]. I am Colonel P Venkatachalam from Bangalore. I write to you today to express my deep anguish and disappointment at the poor service of TATA sky.
Problems started during installation when your mechanic Gurdeep from Bangalore came and tried to use my existing Sun Direct connection cable to install TATA sky. When i questioned him about it, he damaged my Sun Direct antenna and feeder thus causing me a damage of Rs 2500. He said he will come within two days to get it repaired through Sun Direct agencies since it was his mistake but he completely disappeared after that. I promptly complained to you about this incident but I have heard no response on the matter till date. I am thoroughly disgusted by the poor customer service and lack of concern to your customers complaints. I would hence request you to compensate my loss. About 10 days back your TATA Sky rep rang up to take HD connection for Rs 70 pm for two months which i agreed to but since my TV has packed up I request you to cancel the HD connection with immediate effect and retain only basic South Indian packages @Rs180 pm.

There was no service on 20.05.15 from morning. I had to see IPL match through Laptop. I spoke to customer care personnel with great difficulty (queue no.28 & queue no.14) twice to rectify the problem over phone but in vain.
On 21.5.15 morning registered a complaint and received WO:I6S1CLB through SMS mentioning technician visit between 15.20 & 16.00 but in vain.
On 22.5.15 afternoon I had online chat with TataSky personnel who apologized and said that I will be intimated over phone the timing of technician visit but in vain.
Do refer to attachment for name and script exchanged during the online chat. As of now 3 days without service.
I had to engage a third party and paid a premium to rectify the problem.
On 25.5.15 again due to non-availability of service, I had to register a complaint and received WO:I9GDQJP with a sms 'We will contact you soon for taking appointment related to technician visit but in vain.
Later in the day I received SMS that visit is scheduled between 16:00 and 16:40 but in Vain.
Then at 19:06 another SMS that mentioned schedule time between 19:20 & 20:00 but in vain.
As of now 4 days no service
I had to engage a third party and paid a premium to rectify the problem.
On 26.5.15 at around 3.30 p.m. again I contacted tatasky personnel through online chat(refer to attachment for snapshot of chat window) and insisted on refunding the rental for the days of No service, which he also registered.
Hi my subscription id is [protected], I have raised concern about changing my set top box and it have been 15 - 20 days, I was informed that someone will come in 2 - 3 days even though the recharge was done but I was not able to view any channels. Whenever I have called I have been informed someone is on the way to my address to replace and had to avoid other work because of it but nobody turned up. I have been speaking to Customer service but they have no answers to my simple question when someone is coming to change the DTH box but rather to avoid any questions they feel comfortable to disconnect the call at their end. I also spoke to a so called supervisor ROHAN today who hardly bother whatever our concern is and also disconnected the cal saying he does not have any idea when our set top box will be changed and we may have to be without television for another month... I don't feel this is a good customer service. I feel when we call we should be given solution to our problem and at the end of the incomplete conversation ROHAN the supervisor gave me a small hint saying that if we want to CHANGE THE SERVICE PROVIDER he does not have any issue... So I had to speak to other service provider
