Titan Company — Unreasonably high cost of straps | |||
I purchased a Titan Edge Titanium watch about 2 years ago, the glue in the original strap that came with the watch came undone and I nearly lost the watch. Anyway because of an alert friend the watch was saved, I went to the authorised Titan showroom for a strap replacement, it was replaced with an authentic Titan strap and then I was presented with the bill and what a whopper that was, they charged me a sky high Rs.1490/- for the strap and that too with a steel buckle and not a Titanium one. Pure leather shoes cost about that price in reputed shoe companies and last much longer...what I would like to know is how Titan justifies this exceptionally high price for two tiny strips of leather...this is absolute day light robbery. My HMT watch and strap is 18 years old and never has been replaced and probably will go strong for another 10 years... Justify yourselves Titan Industries...charging a bomb for a strap !!!
