[Resolved]  Toni & Guy — Worst hair straightening! Highly unrecommended..

Recently my friend had visited Toni & Guy for getting her hair straightened. But it was the worst nightmare of her life. She had booked an appointment with a senior stylist who comes at the price of atleast 3 g of gold. Well, at the end of her appointment the hair DID NOT look straight. To add to her misery her hair had lost its elasticity. It looked like someone had ironed her hair with a clothes-iron. That was the extent of damage caused.


What made us feel cheated was that the stylist did not own up his mistake that day. He made it appear like it was a normal job done (although his colleagues n he were exchanging looks as noticed by my friend).


He asked her to return after a few days for hair coloring. We decided to meet him earlier, confront him about his mistake and ask him to fix the hair.


He realised that his mistake had been identified and vocalised to him. He asked her to return the next day. So this is our 3rd visit to the same salon that left us so unhappy and dissatisfied the first time.


We returned. This time he added some more chemicals (which he claimed would help smoothen the hair and cause some amount of damage control). He also colored her hair.


At the end of this exercise her hair texture did not improve because he had caused a major mess the 1st time around. This time again he tried to convince her that her hair looked better. My friend had by now given up on him, his service and his explanations.

His team and he claim that because she had colored her hair a few weeks ago with hair color available in stores her hair has reacted this way.

If that was the real reason then aren't they expected to obtain all information possible from the client before providing the service
for eg: when did u color your hair last?
What hair color did u use? Check the chemicals online. Advise customer to wait until hair is ready for treatment. How many times have u done this treatment before?
Frequency of treatment.


He has caused permanent damage to her hair. They did give her a gift voucher for amount of the service but the damage caused is irreparable.


Why be so greedy that the service provider increases revenue at the cost of customer's hair / beauty?


Is that what customers deserve for paying so many thousands of rupees expecting good service?

Moral : Even if the brand is as big as Tony & Guy DO NOT assume the services will be world class. They are as good as their intentions to provide service.
