I had opened two years ago, traditional FD for Rs.1, 75, 000 online in Pondicherry Main Branch. But when I needed money prematurely, there is no option for premature closure. I hoped I could close it when I need it, even I am not in Pondicherry. I had shifted my SB A/c and offline FD A/c to Chennai. When I asked my Selaiyur branch, how to close this online FD A/c, they say I have to surrender FD receipt. I didn't get FD receipt for the online opened FD to surrender nor there is any online option to close the FD prematurely. On looking the online opening FD, I had to get the FD from the Main Branch to which my A/c is related. So even though it was easy to open online, I had to go to the Branch to get the FD receipt. in other banks, online deposits, the send the FDR through registered lost. Here, they neither send FDR online nor there is any option for closure. So when on maturity you will not have FDR to surrender nor you can close it online as it is easy to open. In effect, I am to lose my online FD to the bank on maturity. Even if I wrote to my accounts manager, from my A/c, there is no reply at all in spite of repeated requests either send the FD to my Chennai Branch or transfer the FD A/c itself to Chenna Branch.
