United Spirits — Damaged neck/tip of bottle

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

I have written several complaints to United Spirits. They just keep sending automated responses and nobody is taking any action or contacting me. McDowell's No.1 has been my favourite drink and over the years the brand has attracted customers like me because of quality, packaging, marketing, etc. I purchased 180 ml on 20th june 2015 and when I opened the cap, I found that the neck of bottle is slightly broken and possibilities of glass components dissolved in whisky. Since 7 years, this is the first time I experienced something like this and promptly reported this to the cashier at the shop where I purchased it. However, Cashier suggested me to filter whisky using a kerchief or cloth and consume. I felt really humiliated as I was asked to consume the whisky which contains glass pieces and why would I risk my life for just 124 rupees! And definitely I am not looking for refund or something but purely escalate it to the concerned department to improve the packaging. Cashier also confirmed that they do not refund, exchange products after billing for any reason including quality and packaging. I believe that this could impact the business more. For simple reason, what if some distilleries are selling dulpicate whisky? Isn't investigation required to check the quality? As a customer, I reported this instantly to the shop keeper and I also tried the callcentre number[protected]. Whisky details: McDowells 180 ml Broken tip/neck [protected] Purchase details: Invoice number: 009001 Batch number: 000219 TID 47057834
