[Resolved]  Vodafone India — Harassing me since two months to pay random bill after closing account with them

I have been using Vodafone services since a long long time and while using the services I never had any problem. The main problem occurred when I moved to Bangalore and asked them to close my account. I have never ever expected this from such a big organization. I expect a little bit of problem while closing any account as it pisses off the company but harassment at this level is not justified. First of all when I asked them to close my account they gave me a lot of options which I didn’t like and after so many calls from many customer care people - They finally agreed to close my account. At the time of closing the account my outstanding amount was Rs 1710(Bill dated 01/06/2014.) which they asked me to pay so that they can close it quickly. I wired the money and asked them to close. I also received a mail from Customer care that my security deposit for this account is Rs 2819 and they will send a cheque at my home address. Life was so good until now. After few days as I gave my wife number as alternative contact number they started calling my wife everyday to pay a bill amount of Rs 3414. I thought it might be some sync issues among customer care people. So I wrote a mail customer care and asked them to update their database so that I receive no further calls. After that day I never stopped receiving call from them. I wrote so many mails explaining my condition, talked on phone with multiple customer care guy but there is no help from them. Yesterday it crossed my limit then I received a Demand Notice from Vodafone. Just to finish with - I would like to tell Vodafone guys that - I am not going to pay a penny and would demand my security deposit from you guys. If they can harass me I can go beyond that and tell everybody around me to stay away from any service from vodafone. I will run a campaign if required but I won’t tolerate this attitude. Somebody also explain I used to pay a bill of max 500-1000 per month how could they are asking me to pay Rs 3414 for a month bill.
