Western Digital — not satisfactory

I have brought WD my passport from flipkart a month ago. Its 1 tb hard disk and I had filled it upto 450 GB. After that I tried copying few files, it used to start but get stuck in mid -way...and when I tried to safely remove the hard-disk it never was possible... tried to check disk for errors, the system could not process all the indexs as well.. Later I tried formatting, and now system rejects the format as well.. Please help
