[Resolved] Western Digital — WD External Hard Drive not working

Hello, I have a 2Tb WD My Book external hard drive that stopped working after a file transfer to an internal HD was suddenly stopped. No PC was able to recognise it after the problem, so I took the hard drive out of the case and tried to install it on my machine, but despite appearing on the BIOS, it does not show the size and the machine does not start anymore. Sorry to hear about that, by opening the WD My Book external hard drive case, you have already voided the warranty.
When installation of a hard disk results in a system crash. It is normally a sign of failed drive electronics. Now If you can swap the circuit board from an identical (and I do mean absolute identical model) drive you may be able to salvage the data.
