[Resolved]  Wrong Fine — Fine for not having PUC

Address:Kottayam, Kerala

I am British national was driving from Alleppey to Changanacherry. I have been stopped after Pallathuruthi bridge (bedore Nedumudi) by police and requested for all documents. I have furnished all documents, but I didn't have PUC with me. He has initially asked me Rs 1000 and when I asked him to show me the description of offence he said - he would only charge me Rs 300 instead of Rs 3000. The name of the officer is P.N Sidarth. The officer was very rude which is very unusual to me. There were a few police personals looks like acting servants. I have paid Rs 300. finally. When I searched google laster I have found that I shouldn't have been charged for nit having PUC (Emission certificate ). The policy only ask for producing such certificate within 7 days. When I have looked at the receipt, I found that the fine was "183 of MV act", which is over speeding.( as per http://www.keralamvd.gov.in/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=73... This was not clearly my offence (also I was driving under 30 km/hr). I want to complaint against this corruptible nature and very rude behaviour of Police. Hoever this needs an Indian address- https://smartweb.keralamvd.gov.in/kmvdnew/services/complaints/complaintlogin.php
